Aceldama Zine No. 2 – Year 2004

With a touch of nostalgia and a touch of homage, we couldn’t leave out this fanzine, which is distributed free of charge, has a low circulation, and is unlikely to continue, but which we believe is important not only to make available in PDF format, but also as a way of paying tribute to its creator, Rubén Dominguez (RIP), a true warrior of Metal and a pioneer in the dissemination of Heavy Metal with Christian content.
From his well-known and long-running radio program, “Jesús Junto Al Metal” (Jesus Alongside Metal), Ruben Dominguez spread the White Metal scene in all its variants, becoming a pioneer in broadcasting a radio program dedicated entirely to Heavy Metal with Christian content, with a unique style, close to the feelings of Metal fans, and serving as a prominent place where we could discover many bands and albums. Until his final moments, the beloved Dominguez continued to fight for metal, leaving an indelible legacy for many of us who had the privilege of knowing him and listening to him on the radio.
As part of all this, he also edited this fanzine called “Aceldama,” launched in 2004. In this copy that we have, there is information and notes about Paramaecium, Triade, comments on albums such as Veni Domine, U.D.O., etc., as well as translated lyrics and his own thoughts that translate onto paper those unmissable allegories from the radio program.
We thought it was important to share this PDF copy of this fanzine for those who like to see how the scene was spread in other times, and also as an example of how great things can be done with simple resources…
