“Defend Our Children's Hope” is now available... | InnerWish Releases New Single
The Greek band, currently touring Europe with Within Silence, has just released a new song called “Defend Our Children’s Hope,” which was considered for inclusion on their latest album, “Ash Of Eternal Flames,” but ultimately left off the track list, seeing the light of day as a single in a digitally released lyric video. Incidentally, the band itself commented on this, saying, “To be or not to be in the album? That is the question! For sure a question we asked ourselves a lot because having 15 songs makes you keep some of them out of the album. And it’s not a matter of being a lesser song, especially in this case, but it’s just the way it is sometimes. No matter what, this song has all the classical InnerWish elements, the ones that lasted all these years. Groove, melodies and a hooky chorus. We talked about children on ‘Sea Of Lies,’ and we do it here as well. Different writer, different perspective/impression. Again, for the children. They are the hope of the mankind, they are our hope, they deserve way more. After all, this world isn’t their fault but ours.”
This song closes the cycle of the album “Ash Of Eternal Flames” (which we reviewed recently), with InnerWish now focusing their attention on their current European tour with Within Silence and on creating new stuff, according to their social media posts.
“Defend Our Children’s Hope” joins “The Enemy Inside,” another song that the band had discarded from their latest album but which we also recently learned about through social media. Both songs show InnerWish’s love and belonging to traditional Heavy Metal. In particular, the latter track is a display of heavy riffs and bases with Power Metal-style melodies, in the style to which the Greek band has accustomed us.
