Jeriko is one of the many legendary bands from Argentina that never received much attention—at least not from the major media outlets—but which holds an important place in the history of metal in this part of the world. And the best part is that they’re still going strong, fighting on, and this time releasing a new album
Jeriko’s new release is titled “Imposible Olvidar” and is, quite simply, a recording of the band’s performance on June 28, 2026, at “El Teatrito” in Buenos Aires—a show that in a way marked the official return of one of their most iconic vocalists, Juan Soto—and which features Jeriko’s debut album in its entirety. Added to this is a new studio-recorded track accompanying this interesting release, titled “No Es Suficiente.”
Unlike what usually happens with official live albums, “Imposible Olvidar” captures practically the entire show, but beyond that, what makes the album special is that the song selection is based on and centered around their early days—more precisely, the iconic and historic “Tierra Violada”, their 1997/98 debut album, recorded precisely with the voice of Juan Soto, who returns to the band at just the right moment and lends his vocals to the legendary anthems featured on that album.

In that sense, Jerikó offers a thorough review of all the classics from “Tierra Violada”, leaving no song unplayed, thereby celebrating, in a way, the release of such a historic album; but on the other hand, the show at “El Teatrito”—which this album captures—showcases the vitality and power that Jerikó still holds within, proving they’re just as strong as they were in their early days.
In any case, the first thing we’ll encounter is the new song, “No Es Suficiente”, added as a sort of bonus track to the album; but contrary to their usual practice, they placed it as the opening track, offering a glimpse into Jeriko’s current sound and songwriting style—and hinting at a potential new studio album on the horizon. Let’s hope so.
In this case, “No Es Suficiente” once again showcases that sonic power that does justice to Jeriko’s legacy, with a foundation rooted in traditional Heavy Metal, featuring heavy riffs and complementary melodies that give birth to a new metal anthem.
Setting aside the band’s new song, what followed was the set in which Jeriko revisited “Tierra Violada”, their historic debut album, beginning with the well-known intro “Naciendo”, launching into “El Final”, and then continuing with another classic like “Bajo Mi Ley.”
It’s worth noting that the songs from “Tierra Violada” have lost none of their relevance or timeliness, and the current lineup of Jeriko performs them masterfully—as is the case with “Vivir Así O Morir”, another classic that the audience sings along to as soon as the opening chords ring out.
Thus, the setlist chosen by Jeriko for the evening of June 28, 2026, was based almost exclusively on songs from that album, though not exactly as they appear on the original record. Despite this, they played all the classics from that album, leaving none out—including songs like “Por Mis Venas”, “Reventado”, and “Ardiendo En El Cielo.”
Even so, Jeriko added two bonus tracks to the night’s special set list that do not belong to the album being honored, namely: “Último Amanecer”, which is actually from the 1999 album “Tensiones”, and “Penumbras”, from one of the band’s latest studio albums (“En Origen” from 2011), thus creating an excellent live performance that, in a way, revives classic songs by the band and, ultimately, by Argentine Heavy Metal.
What stands out most—both visually and aurally—is that “Imposible Olvidar” has a tremendously powerful, hard-hitting, clear, and precise sound. The atmosphere of that night has been captured exceptionally well, showcasing Jeriko in all its glory and, above all, proving that those old compositions from “Tierra Violada” have lost none of their relevance—neither musically nor socially.
To that we must add that “No Es Suficiente”, the new track, points the way Jeriko plans to go on a possible future studio album, making it clear that fast, furious, traditional Heavy Metal is their thing, and foreshadowing an upcoming release of excellent quality.

And speaking of the audio—forgive me for harping on this—but this live recording really sounds incredible; in our opinion, it’s the best live album Jeriko has ever released. Beyond any possible studio retouching of the recording, the truth is that “Imposible Olvidar” has a truly remarkable sound that’s every bit as good as a production by a foreign band—and even surpasses many albums of this caliber.
The physical edition of this album is of very high quality. The cover features a collage of photos of the band performing live, and the booklet even includes a fairly large photo of what happened that night at “El Teatrito.” It also includes the lyrics to “No Es Suficiente”, the new track featured on this album, along with the usual technical details, plus a striking statement signed by the band that reads: “To the detractors of this kind of music: don’t think that this means we’re trading in our Mercedes or traveling to Dubai.”
Of course, behind the production of “Imposible Olvidar” (and all independent and underground productions) lies a great deal of effort and passion, and what matters is that it all comes together in a truly incredible album.
Jeriko hasn’t forgotten its roots, and far from wallowing in nostalgia, the band took the plunge to perform all the songs from its most iconic album live, adding a new track that seems to hint at what’s to come—which may lead to a new album—showing that the band has no intention of slowing down, much less stopping.
Here’s the official music video for the song “Vivir Así O Morir” from the show featured on this album, and of course, the band’s social media accounts, so you can stay up to date on their tour dates and news…
