Some time ago, we reported that Sacrificium was planning to record new material. Their last album was “Oblivion” in 2023, though in early 2025, Sacrificium released a new song, “Laid To Unrest,” as a digital single on major streaming platforms, featuring Theo Georgitsaros (vocalist for Darkness Ablaze).
It seems the time for a new album has arrived, as the band has announced on social media. So this is a good time to learn more about it—and not only that, but also to explore the possibility that, in the not-too-distant future, Sacrificium might play here in Latin America, and particularly in Argentina.

For those who don’t know, Claudio Enzler, in addition to being the vocalist and leader of Sacrificium—the seasoned German Death Metal band—was also born in our beloved country. “I was born in San Martín (Buenos Aires), and it’s true that this creates a special connection to Argentina”, Claudio told us, explaining why he has such a special connection to our country. “I love the food, the culture, and the friendliness of the people”, he acknowledges. “It feels so different from Germany, and personally, it appeals to me in many ways. That doesn’t mean I don’t like Germany because it’s a wonderful place to live. But there’s something about Argentina that has always fascinated me and made me feel a special connection to the country.”
That could be the catalyst for exploring the possibility of Sacrificium performing here in this zone, though nothing is official at this point. “We played a tour in Mexico in 2024”, Claudio recalls, “…and have remained in close contact with the promoter, who would be happy to book us again for another tour. Both he and we also have connections in Guatemala and Argentina, and we would love to give as many people as possible the opportunity to see us live”, he told us.

The reason for the potential tour revolves around what the band has been working on—namely, the follow-up to “Oblivion,” their latest official album, which we’re listening to as we write this. In fact, a possible tour would take place once the upcoming album is officially released. “This will only become a serious topic once we have finished the new album”, Sacrificium’s seasoned vocalist told us. “In the period leading up to its release, we plan to focus on organizing live activities, since we would also like to use the tour to promote the record. So, if anyone feels inspired to book us, or has contacts with clubs, promoters, or local concert organizers, we would be very grateful if you could put us in touch. It’s quite simple: the more contacts we have, the more opportunities we get!” said Claudio Enzler.
Well, you know the drill!!! Here’s the call for those involved in show production and touring. Sacrificium is eager to tour Argentina, and there will be plenty of us there to see the battle-hardened Germans of Sacrificium for the first time!
But beyond all that, a new album is starting to take shape, and little by little, the band has begun working on it. “We are currently working on a new album”, Claudio confirmed, “We have already recorded demos, written lyrics, and developed the vocal lines”, and he also told us about the work that lies ahead for Sacrificium from here on out. “First, the demos still need some fine-tuning. After that, we will eventually move on to the studio recordings, followed by the mixing and mastering of the album. The artwork will also take a considerable amount of time to complete”, he told us.

Claudio Enzler also mentioned that it’s very likely the new album will be released by the folks at Nordic Mission, one of the most active labels in Europe. “In the coming months, we will be having discussions with our label. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work Nordic Mission has done, and we share their vision and attitude toward the scene”, and without specifying any concrete deadlines, Claudio asked us for a little patience. “All in all, you’ll have to be a little patient, but I think that in about a year’s time we should be ready to make some official announcements.”
“Oblivion” showed us a more up-to-date side of the Death Metal for which Sacrificium is known. We know that the band is dedicated to the old school of the genre, but even so, their sound has become noticeably more modern and closer to current trends, without straying from their long-standing commitment to raw and violent Death Metal. Regarding the new material, Claudio told us the following: “Stylistically, we will remain broadly within the framework of our previous album”, before quickly clarifying that “That said, we don’t feel restricted by any particular approach. We enjoy all facets of death metal and don’t like to limit ourselves, as long as it stays rooted in an old-school spirit”, which is undoubtedly good news.
And as with everything, we’ll have to wait and be patient—both for the new album Sacrificium is preparing and for a possible tour through Mexico and Guatemala. And who knows—maybe they’ll even swing by Argentina? Anything is possible, and God willing, it’ll happen.

Sacrificium is a legendary band with a long history and career, which began way back in the ’90s and released its first official album in 2002 (“Cold Black Piece Of Flesh”), and from there, they released several albums of the highest caliber, always remaining true to the spirit of old-school Death Metal, culminating in “Oblivion” in 2003. This legacy will continue with their next album—their fifth—and we hope to hear more about it soon.
In the meantime, here’s Sacrificium’s latest release, “Laid To Unrest,” featuring Theo Georgitsaros, vocalist for Darkness Ablaze. This track was recorded during the “Oblivion” era but was only released digitally, so we’re sharing it here for you to enjoy what Sacrificium is all about. And of course, we’re including the band’s social media links so you can follow them and stay tuned for their latest updates—now more than ever!!!
