Based in the city of Rosario, Abrasantia is currently working on what will be their next album, titled “The Return Of The Witch”, and to give fans a sneak peek of what’s to come, the band has just released the single “Te Amaré Por Siempre.” The band has also previewed other tracks that will be included on their upcoming album, such as “Lejos de este Mundo”, “Canción de Adiós”, and “Sueño Inmortal.”
Abrasantia is a band based in Rosario, Argentina, that has been on the scene for some time, with one album to its credit (2015’s “Forgotten Rituals”) and several stories to tell. Their style is based on a blend of Gothic Metal and Symphonic Metal, resulting in a powerful, melodic, atmospheric sound—and above all, great songs.

Their story begins following the definitive breakup of Häxan (Witchcraft Concert) and the posthumous release of their final single, “ABRASANTIA”—a title that would be adopted by Federico Ariel Spinosa, the band’s keyboardist and composer, who launched a rebellion against the group’s decision to end the project and rebranded it with a new identity: “ABRASANTIA.”
The band wrapped up the 2011–2012 period by releasing their first studio recording, “Concierto de Brujería (EP)”, following a series of concerts with national and international bands. They received widespread acclaim and a positive response from the metal audience and also recorded a live DVD after their performance as the opening act for the Finnish band Nightwish, at the “Teatro de Flores” (Buenos Aires).
Abrasantia has also served as the opening act for bands such as Lacrimosa, Tarja Turunen, Epica, Beyond The Black, and others, in addition to adding the EP “Eterna” to their discography in 2013, and most notably, releasing their first and, to date, only full-length album, titled “Forgotten Rituals”, in 2015.
Abrasantia is currently recording its second full-length studio album, “The Return Of The Witch”, from which the singles “Lejos de este Mundo”, “Canción de Adiós”, “Sueño Inmortal”, and “Te Amaré Por Siempre” have already been released, giving us a glimpse of what Abrasantia’s second full-length album will be like.
The band’s name is a word coined by the band itself and is a blend of two concepts: “Abra,” from the magical and kabbalistic word “abracadabra,” and “Santia,” derived from the Latin term for “holy”, thus seeking a balance between the magical and the holy.
According to the band themselves, Abrasantia symbolizes the union of black and white, of the Dionysian and the Apollonian. It was born in 2011, like all artistic expression… always out of time!—as a belated yet eternal return, perhaps an echo, to the depths of the shared spirit that binds us all… …which binds us today!—in the spirit of brotherhood, in music, and in feeling.
Without distinction of religion or creed, it expands its boundaries toward the dark side of the universe, reflected perhaps in that moonlit clearing of nostalgia and desire, of light and silence… as a musical group already rooted in Gothic culture, it neither understands nor adheres to criteria of style or concept.

The truth is that Abrasantia’s compositions overflow with quality, featuring a style we could place somewhere between Nightwish, After Forever, Epica, and other bands of that genre, yet with a distinct personality that the band has developed over time. A good example of this is their only album released to date (2015’s “Forgotten Rituals”), and the new material on the way, as evidenced by the singles the band has been releasing as previews.
The new single, “Te Amaré Por Siempre”, is a melancholic and melodic showcase of the band’s potential; musically speaking, they aren’t confined to any particular style and manage to create a track that evokes a wide range of feelings and emotions.
Here’s the single in question, so you can get a sense of what’s new from Abrasantia, and of course, the band’s social media handles so you can follow them and stay up to date on their latest news…
