GC Goes For A New Album | Galactic Cowboys In The Studio
It’s been a long time since their last studio album (“Long Way Back To The Moon” in 2017), but the long wait seems to be coming to an end. Our beloved Gauchos Galácticos (Argentina’s equivalent of “Cowboys”) are working on a new record, despite not currently having a label to support them, and so Monty Colvin, the band’s historic bassist, told us some details of what’s to come, “We decided to do a new album because we hadn’t done one since 2017. We didn’t have a label, so we did a Kickstarter and our fans came through for us. We raised the money, and the recording of the album has gone fantastic.”; continuing in relation to what we can expect this new album, musically speaking, Monty Colvin told us that “I would say this is a return to the classic GC sound. It reminds me of our early albums from the 90’s. It has elements of metal, rock, and our trademark harmony vocals. I don’t know how “different” it is, but I think it will be one of our best albums.”

From what can be seen and warned on social networks, Galactic Cowboys has taken the necessary time to release a great album, equally Monty clarifies that there is no specific release date, “We hope to have this album out by late summer. Right now it’s being mixed by our producer, Dan Karkos. We have a working title, but we haven’t made it official yet. I will be doing the album cover again, and we can’t wait for people to hear this stuff! The songs are really strong!” he assures.
Finally, and regarding the possibility of the band getting back on stage to play live, or doing a promotional tour, surely it’s going to depend on the support the Galactic Cowboys get for it. “I don’t know that we will “tour” as we did back in the 90’s, but we would love to do as many shows as we can. Without tour support, it’s kind of difficult to afford long tours, but we would love to play these new songs live!” assures Monty Colvin.

The good stuff is coming, and if you have any doubts about the quality that Galactic Cowboys brings to each of their albums, I recommend you get hold of one of their albums to check it out. So it will be a matter of time before we get a new work from a band that since the ’90s has been making one album better than another. Their perfect combination of Metal, Rock, Funk, Beatles and Psychedelia is not something you hear every day.
