The Argentine band Ícaro continues with the tour that will mark the end of the band and the preservation of its immortal legacy. They recently performed in the city of Bariloche, Province of Rio Negro, in a big show, which was marred by some logistical problems, which will be explained in due course by the band itself through its social media channels.

But the tour continues, and Ícaro will continue to visit several Argentine cities. Their confirmed dates so far are:

  • October 11, “MamaFest” in Jujuy
  • October 18, “Montana Bar,” Isidro Casanova
  • November 7, in the province of La Pampa
  • November 8, “Ozzy Heavy Rock,” San Antonio Oeste, Rio Negro
  • December 7, “El Amparo Bar,” Burzaco, Buenos Aires

And as if that weren’t enough, Ícaro’s tour will also continue during the first months of 2026, with dates to be confirmed shortly. We can already reveal that the band will be performing on January 10, 2026, at “Vinoteca Perrier,” Mar Del Plata, but stay tuned for many more dates to be confirmed.

In the meantime, the band’s leader, Horacio Heredia, told us that the band’s highly anticipated third album, “Siendo Libre,” will likely be available in physical format between December 2025 and January 2026. Prior to that, the idea is to release a new lyric video as a preview of this album on digital platforms. It should also be noted that Ícaro has made available, in physical format, the reissue of its first two albums and band T-shirts.

Regarding this new album, Horacio Heredia, guitarist and leader of Ícaro, told us in an extensive interview available on our website that “Half of the album consists of songs we already had, like in those years, ‘Heavy Metal’, which was released ahead of time on the reissue of the first album with Ariel Gomez on vocals and Mario Ian as a guest. At the same time, Mario Ian asked us for permission to make a cover version and uploaded it to his channel. We had already recorded that version in 2013. Those are songs that belonged to this album. In fact, half of the album had already been made some time ago. There is another part that has now been completed. There are three songs that are from the last stage of the band’s comeback, from 2023 to now.”
Horacio also remarked in relation to “Siendo Libre” that “…musically, Ícaro is still Ícaro. From the first, second, and third albums. From the guitar sounds to what is expressed in the lyrics. Each Ícaro album was a moment, very personal, and there are songs where you will find that they speak to you about the love of heavy metal, about situations that one has to go through and that anyone can identify with, and this album is exactly the same. As for guitar sounds, we are in the traditional heavy metal sound of the ’80s because I can’t, I couldn’t do it any other way. I don’t see myself lowering the tuning and looking for current sounds; it’s not something I like. From the lyrics side, yes, the genuine feeling we always had, of expressing what we felt, what was happening to us, and the present. It has a lot to do with the present, and having been in charge of most of the composing in Ícaro, I can say with confidence that it’s still Ícaro. The essence of the band was to genuinely express what was happening to us, what we were feeling. The sound and the compositions are the same. You’ll find virtuosity now, perhaps in different guitarists, and that’s good, but maintaining the simple essence of the band. The hook, the melody in the guitars and the vocals. The lyrics are very direct. “Siendo Libre” will tell you, in a way, the same thing that Ícaro told you on the first album, what was happening, what happened on the second album, and what is happening at this stage, on this third album, a long time later. There is a message on the cover, there is a message in the title, and that is what we want to express at some point, which is very important. To understand the purpose that God had for each of us as His creation. In my case, it happened 48 years later, and the truth is that it’s the happiest and most beautiful stage of my life. And to give me back the gift of being here making music is a reward for me and for all my bandmates.”
As we’ve come to expect, Ícaro always emphasizes the spirit of true heavy metal. We leave you with the lyric video for “Siendo Libre” (Being Free), released at the time, which gives a preview of what will be their third album so you can listen to and enjoy what will be Ícaro’s new album.
