We’ve already told you about them before and shared their story, but it’s worth reminding you that Sempiternus is a project—and, of course, a band—formed in southern Chile, more specifically based in the city of Puerto Montt, where Death Metal roars with the intensity and aggression that only the old school of this genre can deliver.
Beyond labels, what Sempiternus offers revolves primarily around metal, with elements of Death, Thrash, Doom, and Heavy Metal, creating a style that transcends the conventional and the established norms of the metal scene. Each band member contributes their own essence to build a sound that is as inspiring as it is reflective.

Even so, their essence is rooted in the extreme sounds of metal, with influences ranging from early death metal to elements of doom, thrash, and more. All of this results in an explosive cocktail that makes Sempiternus sound more than just interesting.
The band is currently in the midst of recording and producing what will be their first official release. Even so, as a preview of what’s to come, Sempiternus has been posting on their social media and releasing digitally some of the songs that will be included on their debut album, titled “Infernalis Liber Anima Tormentum.”
The latest release from Sempiternus is the track “Purifying The Rotten,” a mid-tempo song with crushing riffs and a distinct influence from the most rotten Thrash Metal imaginable. In a polished blend of early Death and Mortification, Sempiternus unleashes power and fury with every second.

And if that weren’t enough, we’re happy to report that the Chilean brothers have also released the track “Getsemani Passion” as a preview—a scorching track with heavy doses of Doom/Death Metal and beautiful double-bass drumming that adds an extra twist to their sound. That’s not all. “In The Flames Of Damnation” is also available—a mid-tempo, powerful track with hints of Black Metal here and there.
The fourth track released as a preview of “Infernalis Liber Anima Tormentum” is “Rebellion The Fall Of Lucyfer,” a sort of free sample of everything Sempiternus has to offer.
This is just the beginning, but it’s already clear that Sempiternus sounds tremendously powerful. The studio sound the band is capturing is truly amazing and puts them on par with any other greats of the genre.

The best thing about Sempiternus is that they manage to combine different strands of Extreme Metal in an excellent way, achieving a cohesive result with various facets that place them in a position to be taken very seriously. On top of everything, their sound comes across as heavy, deep, and crushing, which is no small feat.
This first foray into a recording studio by Sempiternus is taking shape at RECLEVEL Studios in Puerto Montt, Chile, with Derickson Ruiz handling the mixing and mastering of the material, participating alongside Sempiternus as a guest.
According to Nestor Mancilla, Sempiternus’s guitarist, the band is preparing to tackle the final stages of the recording, all of which we will be able to hear in its entirety, along with the already released tracks, in digital format, and hopefully also in physical format.

“Infernalis Liber Anima Tormentum” has the power to shake and crush heads, proving that old-school Extreme Metal is still alive and has plenty to offer.
Here are the tracks that Sempiternus has been releasing as previews of their debut album, as well as the contact information for these brothers from neighboring Chile, so you can support them, follow them, and stay updated on the band’s latest news…
