Kebranto Prepares A New EP | Death Metal Time

Kebranto is one of many bands that, from the depths of the underground, fly the flag of Extreme Metal. They have been touring the scene for several years, with great dignity, quietly and without hype, even touring some neighboring countries, establishing themselves with their original Death Groove Metal, as they define themselves. We will soon realize that Kebranto is serious business, and that despite the almost complete lack of coverage of his work in the national media, he has a lot to offer.

At the moment, they have only released one EP, which was released in 2019 completely independently, entitled “Tiempo Acontecido.” It is a work of infinite quality with a head-crushing sound that has gone unnoticed by many (myself included) but is almost unavoidable for those seeking a fierce, combative, and uncompromising sound, because if there is one thing to highlight about Kebranto, it is that they give you no respite. It is relentless, with a profound spiritual, personal, and even social message. An interesting combination.
But Kebranto has a history behind it, and it all started in 2016 when Alejandro Lopez (an old warrior of the scene) founded the band. Previously, Alejandro was the bassist for Supresión Thrash between 2013 and 2014 and also participated with Brazilian guitarist Will Matheus on his tour in 2015.

In Lopez’s own words, “After playing with all these great bands with international and global reach, actively performing for more than 20 years in various projects, with great effort and dedication, leaving everything else aside, I felt the need to take my musical and personal career to the next level, and this time presenting myself as lead guitarist and singer-songwriter, which is why I present my project KEBRANTO.”
Kebranto focuses on Death Metal but with elements that give the genre a different twist. An example of this can be found in the EP “Tiempo Acontecido,” released in 2019, where the band captures its style and literally blows minds. With just five songs, this work shows us a sound obviously centered on Death Metal but with elements of Groove, Thrash, and even Hardcore, showcasing Kebranto’s originality and personality, with material that, with little, is enough to demonstrate the combative and fierce nature of their approach.

A good example of this is the tremendous “Rompiendo Cadenas,” the lead single from the aforementioned album, which, with powerful riffs and different bases, stands out as the best of this work. “Abismo De Muerte” is not far behind, with its profile closer to 80s German thrash metal. We also find “Perverso E Inmundo,” much more focused on Death Metal but with an unmistakable thrash influence, as well as “Cruel Estigma,” with its combative riffs. Finally, “Kebranto En Mi Alma” stands out as one of Kebranto’s best songs, with several changes of pace in its bases.
The sound of “Tiempo Acontecido” hits hard. Kebranto is a machine that fires off riffs, blast beats, and guttural vocals, perhaps more in a thrash style reminiscent of Kreator or Sodom, but musically leaning more towards death metal. The sound hits hard, no doubt about it.

The band has expanded abroad and has managed to tour Paraguay in 2019 and 2022, Chile and Brazil in 2023, etc. in addition to some performances here in Argentina. It should also be noted that Kebranto released a “Live Session” on social media in 2020, where they showcased some of the songs from the band’s debut EP, allowing us to enjoy how Kebranto sounds live.
But Kebranto is not standing still and is preparing new material. According to Alejandro Lopez, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, this year 2026 will see the recording of a new EP and possibly a new tour, this time through Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador.
