“Glow” Is The New Single From The Former Seventh Avenue Member | Herbie Langhans Leaves Firewind And Releases New Solo Track
The news came as a bit of a shock, but we understand the reasons the German vocalist gave for leaving Firewind, with whom he recorded two albums. Herbie Langhans is no longer a member of Firewind, and he explained his reasons on his personal Facebook account: “It wasn’t an easy decision, and it wasn’t a decision against Firewind, but rather for my family. All the touring was quite a strain on me and my family, and I had to decide what to do next. There were also often overlaps with Avantasia and other projects, and because of this I always felt guilty towards Firewind”, He explained in a few words, but not before expressing his gratitude to the band.
However, it seems that Herbie is not giving up on music, and despite leaving Firewind, he has just released a solo song as a single. The song in question is “Glow,” a song with an air reminiscent of 1980s AOR, which in a way distances him from the Power/Heavy Metal profile we knew him for. The result is a powerful song that conveys a lot of strength.
Regarding “Glow,” Herbie himself presented it this way, and in a way, explains its content. “Do you sometimes think the best times are over? Does everything around you no longer seem as vibrant and exciting as it used to? Do you sometimes feel like everything you start is doomed to fail, and you’ve stopped dreaming? I think everyone knows this feeling; I’ve often gone through times where I thought I wasn’t really good at anything. But we all have something inside us that’s smoldering and just wants to be rekindled. It’s important to simply say to yourself: STOP, that’s enough, because I’m really good and can do many things better than many others. Otherwise, it will eventually consume you, and it will become increasingly difficult to crawl out of your shell. Sometimes a good friend, a partner, or even your parents or children can help you get out of this rut and rediscover that spark. I hope you all have someone like that around you.”
And as a way of introducing “Glow,” Herbie Langhans said he hopes this new song, “it gives you the same warm and encouraging feeling as it does me every time I hear it!”
