A while back, Graeme Leslie, vocalist and bassist of the legendary Stairway, told us, “We plan to release a new album. Some of the songs are more or less finished, but we’re still working on others. We don’t have a release date yet.” Apparently, according to Leslie himself, the release of this new release will have to wait for now.

The songs that will be included on this new album are close to being finished, but the completion and release of the new material will depend largely on the health of Andy Edwards, the band’s drummer, who must undergo surgery on one of his arms.
In any case, Graeme confirmed that “Tricky Nicky,” the band’s latest single, will be part of this new release, which we hope will see the light of day in 2026. The song in question showcases classic Stairway in all its glory, with heavy riffs and flying the flag for traditional heavy metal, heavily influenced by the NWOBHM.
If there is one band that never disappoints those who prefer traditional metal, it is Stairway. And apparently, their new material will follow the line for which they are known. Keep in mind that the band has been around since 1978 and despite their limited discography, they never gave up and are still active.

It’s also worth remembering that Stairway has a compilation album available, released in 2024 entitled “Metal Rising” through the Roxx Records label, in limited physical format, which contains 12 tracks taken from their discography. It was first released in 2024 as a download, and then a CD was released through the Roxx Records label at the end of May this year.
Here are Stairway’s social media links so you can follow them and stay up to date with their latest news. And of course, below you will find the lyric video for “Tricky Nicky,” one of the tracks that will be included on the band’s upcoming album….
