MR Miguel Roldan: La Industria Del Poder 30 ª Aniversario | The Tribute Due

For those of us who grew up with Logos’ “La Industria Del Poder”, way back in time, we believe that the due tribute to an essential album of national Heavy Metal was necessary. Well, it seems that Miguel Roldan, original guitarist of Logos, decided to take this responsibility on his shoulders, and in addition to the various presentations he has made presenting this kind of tribute, he took the job of releasing this live album with the record taken from what was the August 19, 2023 concert at the “Marquee Session Live”, in Buenos Aires.
Of course Miguel Roldan is not alone. He is accompanied in the difficult task by German Cañete on drums, Diego Mansilla on bass and Fernando Vazquez on vocals. Of course, the idea was to recreate this legendary album from beginning to end, track by track. Among the 8 songs that make up “La Industria Del Poder”, the instrumental “Memorias Del Continente Nuestro” which, at least for me, I had never heard played live. Truly a pleasure for the ear. The rest of the album, as fans of Logos and National Metal in general can imagine, goes from that strong beginning that is “Marginado”, through classics like “Como Relámpago En La Oscuridad”, “No Te Rindas” and “Ven A La Eternidad”, among others. The reality is that in only 8 songs, Logos gathered in a single album a great amount of metal anthems, setting the bar so high that it could never be surpassed. With dignity and firmness, this line-up proposed by Miguel Roldán, carries out the task of paying tribute to this legendary album in a dignified way.
In addition to the usual tracks that make up “La Industria Del Poder”, the songs “Volveré a Empezar”, originally recorded by Cruel Adicción, Miguel Roldán’s parallel project to Logos, and “Miedo A La Libertad”, originally recorded as a demo by Logos at the time, were added as bonus tracks to this edition.
Regarding the audio in general, we can say that it is really outstanding for a live album, being perfectly noticeable how each instrument sounds, and the performance of each musician. In that sense, the work of the recording itself, mixing and production has been very well done.
Graphically, we have tried to respect the design style that “La Industria Del Poder” has, with those images taken from the legendary German movie of the 20’s “Metropolis”, including also, photographs of the band in the same style as in the original album. As a detail, the CD comes with a guitar pick, as a way of giving something back for the purchase of the album, which is an independent production, and it is important to remember that the edition and release of the album took a great effort.
Now, and passing the due homage, there is Miguel Roldan, of whom we have an excellent reference, as a musician, guitarist and above all composer. What will he do after this release? Can we expect something new from Cruel Adicción? Or under another name? Questions that are still hanging around and we hope that in the future, we will have some answers. In the meantime, we have this live album that pays homage to one of the best albums of the National Heavy Metal.
