Some of you may remember Demoniciduth, a long-standing and beloved Black Metal band from Central Europe—more specifically, Switzerland. We, in particular, had the chance to get to know the band and their music when they sent us their first release back in the day, which we still have, as you can see; “Post Tenebras Lux,” released in 2001, was played on our old radio show, and we were also able to publish a review of it on the old version of our webzine back then.

Demoniciduth is a band that’s been fighting the good fight since 1998, always in the underground scene. “Post Tenebras Lux” was their first release—an EP—which they were able to put out independently. It’s a raw, caustic EP, capturing the essence of old-school Black Metal but with direct Christian themes in its lyrics. We’re privileged to have it in our archive, and despite the years that have passed, it’s a release that has stood the test of time. With just six tracks, Demoniciduth showcased the rawness and fury of Black Metal in all its glory, musically speaking. For now, there are no signs of a reissue, so it remains a cult classic—legendary, one might say.

But beyond “Post Tenebras Lux”, time passed, and Demoniciduth remained active; in fact, over the years they’ve released several albums, namely: “Dogs Of Antichrist” in 2005 (reissued in 2020), the EP “The Valley Of Decision” in 2012, and “Enemy Of Satan” in 2017, which would ultimately be their latest release to date. In all of these, we can hear and see Demoniciduth’s evolution over the years, but yes, for us, “Post Tenebras Lux” holds a special place because of everything it means.
The thing is, it seems that after nine years of silence on the recording front, there will be new material from the Swiss band. “We’re teaming again with Vision of God Records for the release of the new CD-EP!!! We’re very excited to get this new material”, was the long-awaited announcement that Taanak, Demoniciduth’s bassist and vocalist, made on social media; as of now, there is no release date. Problems stemming from a cruciate ligament injury, as well as his studies, have been factors delaying the band’s activities, as Taanak himself has noted on social media. Even so, Demoniciduth is preparing for what will be their next album, once again with the well-known label “Vision Of God”.

“We’re working on the cover artwork of the upcoming EP, by the same artist as in the previous “Enemy of Satan” Taanak states, adding that “…God willing, we may play in a Christian Metal Festival in Sweden next year. More infos later.” says the Demoniciduth vocalist, so it’s likely that the band will not only release new material but will also be back on stage.
In the meantime, as we wait for more news or a preview, here’s one of the songs from their latest album, “Enemy of Satan”—specifically, the title track—and, as always, their social media links. Follow and support these brothers in Metal, who, as always and for nearly 30 years, continue to fight the good fight!!!!
