Martin Simpson never ceases to amaze us, and following the release a few months ago of the single “Trinity” featuring Annette Olzon, formerly of Nightwish, has just announced a new track featuring Mark Boals, lead vocalist of Royal Junt and formerly of Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, titled “God of Grace.”
This new track will be released on Friday, November 27, via Jonatan Samuelsson’s (Narnia, Starmen) label JONO Music, and will be available on major digital platforms and streaming services. The track features Martin Simson on bass and Mark Boals on vocals, as well as CJ Grimmark on guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals, and Anders Köllerfors on drums. It was recorded, produced, and mixed by CJ Grimmark himself at “The Lighthouse” Mastering. The cover art was created by Rafael Tavares Gripp, a master in the field.

Martin Simson’s Destroyer Of Death was founded by Martin Simson in 2020 and has released four singles (“Destroyer of Death”, “Master of All”, “Rescue Me”, and “Trinity”), along with the full-length album “Eternal Reign”. All four singles, along with the album, are available on all major digital platforms. “Eternal Reign” is also available on CD and Vinyl in limited quantities, worldwide.
In fact, “Eternal Reign” is a great album that has gone unnoticed by many. Rooted in progressive Melodic Metal, it features several notable guest appearances, including Rob Rock and Jorn Lande on vocals, Rex Carroll (Whitecross) on guitar, Anders Johansson (formerly of Narnia, currently with Avatarium) on drums, Carljohann Grimmark on guitar, and Anders Köllerfors on drums (both currently with Narnia). The result is excellent, and the quality of the compositions and sound set it apart.
As a continuation of the project, Martin Simson has been releasing several singles, including “Rescue Me” featuring the well-known Roy Khan, and “Trinity” featuring Annette Olzon—known for her time as the lead vocalist of the famous band Nightwish—in one of those impressive songs we’ve come to expect from Martin. Now “God Of Grace” will be added to the list, featuring the tremendous vocalist Mark Boals—a track that Martin Simson himself had teased us about some time ago.

At that time, it was almost inevitable to ask Martin about the possibility of a follow-up to “Eternal Reign”, and he told us that “The new album is up in the air right now because of finances”. Beyond that, it’s highly likely—based on what Martin himself told us—that “Rescue Me”, “Trinity” and now “God Of Grace” will all become part of a potential Destroyer Of Death album.
We don’t yet have a name or any details for that upcoming album, since for the moment it’s just an idea—or a project. At that time, Martin acknowledged that, given the circumstances, there are no immediate plans for a possible release, but he took the opportunity to tell us that “Rob Rock has agreed to return for a few songs”, thereby confirming his return to participate once again in Martin Simson’s project.
The fact is that, for now, Destroyer Of Death’s new album remains a mystery. “Not sure what the future holds right now”, Martin told us some time ago, so we’ll have to wait for a new release in physical format.
What is certain is that starting November 27, “God Of Grace”—the latest release from Martin Simson’s Destroyer Of Death featuring Mark Boals—will be available via the JONO Music label on major digital platforms and streaming services.
Here are the social media links for Martin Simson’s project, as well as where to get this new single digitally, which will be released on November 27.
