Delotroladometal – 2002 Edition
Okay, it isn’t—and never was—strictly speaking what you’d call a fanzine, far from it, but as we’re reviving old publications, we think it’s only fair to bring back what was originally our website in this webzine format—which we still maintain today—with the idea of presenting a zine in a web-based or digital format. In fact, we believe we were the first Argentine website of this kind, dedicated in those days entirely to what was known as White Metal.
Since, naturally, we didn’t have issue numbers, we were able to recover “some” of what the site looked like in 2002, which marked the beginning of this project called “Delotroladometal”; the idea was quite simple—album reviews, interviews, news, etc.—presented in a much more basic way than today. In other words, we haven’t changed the content much, but one important thing to note is that in this compilation—which we’ve condensed into a PDF—you’ll find interviews we conducted that year with Rob Rock, Jacobs Dream, Seventh Avenue, Detonation, and the Argentine band Templo, led by Hernán Fortuna (formerly of Boanerges). In addition, there are some album reviews (quite simple back then) of albums by Lengsel, Bride, Antidemon, Dynasty, and others. On top of all that, there’s a “news” section from those years, which we’re happy to share.
The site also featured an MP3 section with demos from local bands, reflections, and more. Then, as the years went by, we were able to add a feature allowing listeners to tune in to our radio show directly from the site, along with a new design that would mark the site’s final phase until 2006/2007—and, of course, this current revival of the site you’re reading right now, which began in March 2025.
The idea and design were simple. In fact, you’ll notice that along this journey, we’re missing some of the original photos that illustrated the articles. You could call these technical glitches, considering how many years have passed.
All of this takes us back in time to those days when we worked on this site in a practically rudimentary way—without internet at home, going back and forth with floppy disks to the neighborhood internet café to upload articles, sending and receiving emails, and so on. It was complicated, but we made it happen because when there’s conviction, effort, a desire to succeed, and a commitment to what you believe in—and to the message—with God, all things are possible…
In short, below you’ll find a PDF file that you can download, read, and—if you like—save. It documents the beginnings of delotroladometal.com.ar… a site that was born to stir things up, make people uncomfortable, and fight for metal, as it should be…
