We assume that 2003 was the year this second issue of the “No Te Rindas” fanzine was published, since, to be honest, we don’t know for sure. It’s also possible it was released in 2004, because it doesn’t actually list a month or year of publication, but that’s just how it was. This issue of “No Te Rindas Zine” is truly rare, unusual, and likely had a very small print run. It could be described as an extension of the radio show of the same name, “No Te Rindas” (or more commonly known as “NTR el Aguante”), which aired on an FM station in the Buenos Aires suburbs back then.
Of course, the vibe is pretty punk—typed on a typewriter, photocopied, and poorly designed, but with a lot of guts. Naturally, it was distributed for free and passed from hand to hand. Don’t expect anything well-designed here, with perfect writing, etc. This was truly underground and driven by a desire to create, despite the technical and financial limitations that prevented it from being better.
This issue contains varied information—quite limited, to be sure—but even so, within its few pages we find pieces on Mortification, Seventh Avenue, Evanescence, Sacerdotes, Stryper, a report on Punk and “satanic” music, etc.
The writer, obviously, was part of the collaboration with this zine (though I honestly don’t remember much of what I specifically contributed), since my name appears in the staff list. It’s no surprise, since we collaborated a lot with the radio show, contributing material, ideas, notes, etc., because NTR and Delotroladometal were always a good example of how things turn out much better when there’s good vibes, collaboration, and a common goal. Yes, it’s true—they were into the alternative scene, nu metal, punk, and all that stuff, while we flew the Heavy Metal flag high, but the goal, friendship, and good vibes always came first, as they should.
For anyone who wants to have and keep it, we’re leaving you this copy of this issue of the zine in PDF format, warning you in advance that the poor quality is inherent, as we said initially, but that’s how we spread the word about the movement and the scene—with whatever we had on hand and without a penny in our pockets!!!!! Good times when we didn’t care about anything, only the message and the goal!!!!!
