Lethal: Vivo Somos Thrash | More Alive Than Ever
(2026 – RGS Music)
Thrash metal has a unique chapter in Argentina, and part of that history is thanks to bands like the one we’re discussing here. Lethal is one of those bands that knew how to give the genre that distinctly Argentine touch that sets them apart from their peers and the genre’s origins, despite the obvious influences that, in Lethal’s case, bring them closer to bands like Exodus, Anthrax, or Testament than to Metallica or Megadeth, for example. The reason for this connection lies in their extensive career and history, which elevates them as one of the legendary bands of Argentine Thrash Metal.
Led by the legendary Tito Garcia on vocals and the great Eddie Walker on bass, along with the contributions of Sergio Gomez on drums and Ramón Lopez on guitars, Lethal has managed to revive the band’s glory days in recent years, without simply resting on the laurels they earned. Proof of this is the bulletproof material they’ve released in the 21st century, especially their latest studio album, “Somos Thrash,” which was released in 2023.
Indeed, this new live album has a lot to do with that latest material. A while back, we had the chance to listen to the album “En Vivo…A Través De Los Años,” which was released in 2024 (even though it corresponds to a 2011 concert). Yes, it might be a bit repetitive; releasing two live albums in a row isn’t exactly normal, but the differences are notable.

First of all, “En Vivo…” revolved around Lethal’s back catalog—in other words, the band focused that album on their classics. With this “Vivo Somos Thrash,” the focus is mainly on almost the entirety of their latest studio album, as a way to showcase the band’s current state and how the new songs hold up in a live setting, adding a couple of tracks from “Inyección Lethal” and some classics that obviously can’t be left out.
After an obvious intro, things kick off with all the fury Lethal has accustomed us to live with the energetic “Somos Thrash,” by now almost an emblem of the band, to continue precisely with tracks from that album like “Piel De Cordero” or “Armagedon,” demonstrating how the band’s latest work sounds live.
But that’s not all “Vivo Somos Thrash” has to offer. There’s also a nod to “Inyección Lethal” with the title track and “Busca Tu Camino,” which is a welcome addition.
The emotional highlight is the excellent ballad “Mi Viejo,” for which Lethal delivers a great acoustic section, showcasing the current quartet’s ability to deliver a song of undeniable emotional impact—and something different from what Lethal has accustomed us to.
They also cover songs like “Amanecido” and “El Problemático Señor No,” which prove to be great live numbers.
Naturally, this live material also includes the inevitable “Rompiendo El Silencio” and “Mike Tyson,” closing with “Maza”—essential tracks at any Lethal concert worth its salt.
The album features recordings from Lethal’s May 2024 concert at “El Teatrito,” and as expected, it’s not the full show; rather, as we mentioned, the material included corresponds to the band’s latest studio work, which is why some songs performed that night aren’t included here.
One of the major differences from “En Vivo…A Través De Los Años” lies in the sound. It’s much more compact and deep, reflecting how well Lethal has been sounding live, as well as showcasing the quality of their latest studio work when brought to the stage. It is on this point that comparisons lean decisively toward “Vivo Somos Thrash”; a much better recording, with more emphasis on the bass and low frequencies, on the percussion beats, resulting in a live album with much greater perfection in the final product.
Perhaps the change of venue from “El Teatro” in Colegiales to “Teatrito” has suited Lethal much better; the time that has elapsed between the two recordings (13 years, to be exact) has also had a significant influence, and surely the methods and equipment used to record both concerts differ enough to mark a clear superiority in sound quality.

The truth is that “Vivo Somos Thrash” may not be the right album for those who never got into Lethal, but it is for those who wish to relive some of the band’s latest shows or who want to hear how the material from “Somos Thrash” sounds live. What is certain is that Lethal demonstrates its vitality, not only with new and powerful songs, but also by remaining one of the cornerstones of Thrash Metal history with a distinctly national and Argentine flair, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the genre’s leading figures.
The cover of “Vivo Somos Thrash” looks much more polished than that of “En Vivo…A Través Del Año,” featuring a photograph likely taken on the day this concert was recorded, just like the other photos that make up the inner sleeve. It’s a simple, concise, and straightforward design.
If anyone thinks Lethal relies solely on their classics, they’re wrong. They had already proven with “Somos Thrash” that the band still has a lot to offer, and with this live album, they show that they still have plenty of life left in them. Quietly, through hard work and dedication, Lethal proves they’re more alive than ever….
Here’s a video from that night at “El Teatrito,” specifically of the song “Armagedón,” and as always, here are the links to find Lethal on social media so you don’t miss any of their news and tour dates…
