Their Third Album “ULTRA” Is Coming | Methal Kyrios Holds Strong
The band, hailing from the province of La Pampa, has just announced their new album, which will be titled “ULTRA” and is set to be released shortly.
For those unfamiliar with them, Methal Kyrios has been making a name for itself with truly excellent albums. “Disipando Tinieblas” from 2018 and “Síndrome Oscuro” from 2021 are prime examples of this. Methal Kyrios is all about fierce and combative thrash metal, and in addition to staying active through various live performances and the occasional digital release, the band is preparing a third official album, which will be titled “ULTRA.”

“We’ve been working on what will be our third studio album,” Mauro Queupul, the band’s bassist and vocalist, told us, “…our previous release, ‘CorgubiA,’ was a live album. ‘ULTRA’ will join ‘Síndrome Oscuro’ and ‘Disipando Tinieblas’ as completely new studio material. The album will have 10 songs and a bonus track that we’re planning to include in a special edition,” he added.
If there’s one thing that defines Methal Kyrios, it’s their combative and fierce lyrics, and of course, this album is no exception; “The lyrical themes encompass many of the things we’ve been witnessing around the world in recent years,” Mauro told us, “The new order, the struggle, the regime, and those who make deals with the powers that be. There are also songs that speak of battles with the self, experiences, feelings that deceive the mind, faith, trust, etc.”

It’s no secret how difficult it is for a local band to record an album, handle production, and manage everything that comes with it. It’s even harder for a metal band from the countryside. That’s why the bassist and vocalist of Methal Kyrios told us a bit about the recording process for “ULTRA.” In that regard, he told us, “We’ve been working on this for just over a year. We recorded it in stages: we recorded part of the album to work on the sound and polish the music to the max, and then we recorded the remaining tracks. We estimate that within a couple of months, the official cover art will be released along with the digital release date. As for the physical format, that’s one of the ideas we’re working on with a label to make it happen.”
Let’s remember that both “Disipando Nieblas” and “Síndrome Oscuro” were released in physical format as well as digitally. That’s why we always stress how important it is for the metal community to support not only Methal Kyrios, but all the bands that still choose to release their stuff on physical media.

Musically speaking, with “ULTRA,” Methal Kyrios has no plans to abandon its Thrash Metal-based style, but the band intends to diversify a bit, always within the genre. “It’s going to take a slightly newer musical direction within Thrash,” Mauro announced to us. “Síndrome Oscuro” explored the essence of old-school Thrash extensively with very sharp vocals. This is another side of Methal Kyrios (without losing the essence that defines us); we believe “ULTRA” is packed with speed and rhythmic changes, and we’ve also added our first slow track. We see this album as an evolution of the band over these 15 years.”
“ULTRA” isn’t the only new release Methal Kyrios has to offer. Prior to the release of this new material, the band posted two acoustic versions of songs on their social media and in digital format. More specifically, the track “Herencia Seré/Sacrificio.” Regarding this, the lead singer of Methal Kyrios told us, “We have a completely acoustic live session along with a radio interview. We’re going to release these songs little by little so that our fans can listen to and enjoy the band’s work before the release of “ULTRA.”

In addition, the band plans to release these acoustic sessions in their entirety in the future. “We believe that the positive vibe created by these acoustic tracks gives us the opportunity to reach new audiences. There are seven tracks in total (including one previously unreleased) plus excerpts from an interview. The idea is to release the songs gradually and then compile them into a single album so that our fans can find them all together,” announced Mauro Queupul, whom we deeply thank for taking the time to answer our questions.

“ULTRA” is on the horizon. It will be Methal Kyrios’ third studio album, and while we await the unveiling of their new stuff, we recommend following the band on social media, and as is our custom, we’re leaving you with something to watch and listen to. In this case, part of what the band recently released from their acoustic session, specifically the track “Herencia Seré/Sacrificio”…
