The long-awaited Christmas album comes out on December 21 | Stryper’s new album has a release date
Thank Christ and the Almighty that they didn’t use the cover that had been announced for this new album. “The Greatest Gift Of All,” as it is titled, was officially announced with a release date of December 21, coinciding with the Christmas holidays, and now the highly anticipated album has its official cover and track list.
As if that weren’t enough, Stryper gives us a preview of some of this new material with the release of “Winter Wonderland” in a new version re-recorded especially for this new album, along with a video with the lyrics released on digital platforms, which we leave below for your enjoyment.
About the new album and single, Michael Sweet comments:
“We’ve wanted to record a Christmas album for many years. Since we released our first Christmas single (“Reason for the Season”) in 1985, fans have been asking us for a full Christmas album. Well, the time has finally come. We wanted to make an album with five traditional songs and five original songs, to give our Christmas album our own touch and not just follow the trend, so to speak. We couldn’t be happier with the result! Obviously, we re-recorded “Reason for the Season” and “Winter Wonderland,” and we decided to choose “Winter Wonderland” as the next single, just to give an idea of how it might sound today in 2025. We are happy to say that we finally have our own Christmas album and hope that it will become a fan favorite year after year.
