First of all, it is convenient to make some clarifications regarding the announced news, or rather, the rumors that indicate that Tourniquet may visit Brazil this year.

First of all, no, it is not Tourniquet. Strictly speaking it is STB (Stop The Bleeding, like Tourniquet’s first album), a band formed to pay tribute to the legendary Tourniquet, composed mainly by three former members of the band. Guy Ritter on vocals and Gary Lenaire, both necessary participants of Tourniquet’s best era, combined with the vocals of Luke Easter, who is also part of the band. The band is integrated with Anna Sentina on bass, Neil Swanson on guitar and Devin Chaulk on drums. Their first performance was at the Immortal Fest, in Versailles, OH, USA in July last year, and since then, they have been playing in several festivals.
That’s right, Guy Ritter and Gary Lenaire are co-founders of Tourniquet and original members of the band, and Luke Easter who replaced Ritter for the 1994 “Vanishing Lessons” album, until 2015. We highlight this because the pivotal member, Tourniquet’s creative mastermind, is no longer with us as of 2022. We refer of course to the great Ted Kirkpatrick, former drummer of the band. We suppose that for logical reasons, this is in principle only a tribute to Tourniquet,, which we do not know how far it can be extended or what are the concrete plans of the project, or if it may even be possible the appearance on stage of other former members of Tourniquet as Aaron Guerra, Victor Macias or Erik Mendez. Meanwhile, both Ritter and Lenaire, continue in their project called Flood, of which soon we hope to have news, concretely of the last album released.

Apart from any clarification, let’s hope that the rumors are true. We would love to see the band playing live in South America. Indeed, the one who launched the news through social networks was Gary Lenaire himself, without giving specifics of time and place. Of course, let’s hope that this time we can see them here in Argentina as well and in several countries of the region. Let’s remember that back in 2019 the band (still with Ted Kirkpatrick) almost came to Argentina along with Narnia and Stryper, which could not by those mysteries of life, and we were left with the desire.

By the way, the set list that “Stop The Bleeding (STB) – The Tourniquet Tribute” has been playing, will really please those of us who have been following Tourniquet since their early years, as it includes a lot of material from their first albums. In the meantime, we hope that this time the dream of seeing live one of the best White Metal bands will come true!
