We had already discussed and written about this fanzine—one of the most interesting in Argentina’s White Metal scene—and, in our opinion, one of the best-produced, given the effort, determination, and passion that Naldo Brizuela, its founder and creator, poured into this project, which came to an end with the very issue we’re featuring here.
Issue No. 15, published in September 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, was definitely the final issue of a fanzine that left its mark on its readers and on those of us who have leafed through its pages.
Incidentally, some time ago, Naldo Brizuela himself reminisced with us about the origins of “Santa Fe White Metal”, its journey through the scene, and the reason for its end: “…it emerged almost as a natural extension of the radio show (“El Extremo Opuesto”): moving from the airwaves to paper, leaving a record, building a legacy. The idea was simple yet ambitious: to document, promote, and give an identity to heavy metal with spiritual values, as well as to Santa Fe’s underground scene, which, while always relevant, could certainly use a little more coverage.
The response was greater than expected; it grew more than I ever imagined. We published 15 issues through 2019. There was a very positive response, including collaborations, international interviews, and historical material; it helped connect bands, labels, listeners, and scenes from different places. At first, we hit the ground running, and the fanzine came out every two months, but when we reached issue No. 10—I think in 2008—some things happened that forced me to take a break for a few years and rethink my role in all of this; however, in 2015 we came back with a revamped format, and we kept it going until 2019.
I learned that, in my case, over time, cycles run their course, and the fanzine ended when it was meant to end: because life changes, times shift, formats change, dynamics change, and you change too; and also because what fuels a project isn’t always eternal. But its legacy remains—I believe it was a phase that served its purpose and left its mark.”

And since we want to be part of that legacy—or at least help ensure it’s never forgotten—we’re presenting this final issue, No. 19, in its entirety as a PDF, so you can keep it and relive it.
And this final issue features some truly fascinating content, including an extensive feature with Miguel Roldan, Antidemon, Detritus, Apostullus, Angelic Forces, and more. It’s truly a treat to have this edition of the fanzine, and for that reason—and despite the years that have passed—we’re sharing it here in PDF format, so you can reminisce or simply learn more about the scene, different bands, and projects…
