AHPE is a great find on the Brazilian music scene, specifically in the Hardcore/Metalcore genre. The band hails from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and so far has released only a handful of singles digitally. Their style falls within the Hardcore genre but with a clear lean toward Metalcore and more modern sounds.
Their latest release is the single “Karma,” for which they’ve also just released a music video, using heavy Hardcore to address ambition, manipulation, and the consequences of one’s own decisions.

What drives a band from southern Brazil to head into the studio to record a song about someone who used others as stepping stones, instead of simply organizing a barbecue and complaining about the Brazilian national team in the 2026 World Cup? (heh!)
The answer goes by the name of “Karma,” the new single from the Brazilian hardcore band AHPE. Recorded at Linha Sonora Studio in Caxias do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil), with production, mixing, and mastering by Jonas Godoy, the track marks the Rio Grande do Sul trio’s first foray into more socially conscious themes. The result is direct, no-nonsense hardcore that tackles topics like ambition, manipulation, and the price of certain decisions.
Available on digital platforms via the Se Vira Music label, “Karma” follows the journey of someone who rises not through merit, but through the ability to use people as stepping stones. In 4 minutes and 5 seconds, the band sets aside sophisticated metaphors and chooses to call things by their proper names.
“I thought about people’s social context, especially in the workplace,” says guitarist and vocalist Alex Santin about the origin of the lyrics. He explains that the idea came from observing relationships marked by competition and opportunism, which is why the band chose to cut to the chase: “Anyone who uses others to climb the ladder doesn’t need a pretty verse—they need to hear the truth.”
The track has already made waves within the scene itself. Fernando Schaefer, drummer for the band Rodox and Dudu Ferreira’s teacher, listened to the single and sent his feedback directly to his student via WhatsApp: he liked the result, praised the performance and production, but made a technical observation about the mix—he felt the vocals were too loud relative to the instrumental track. In his view, in a heavy sound, the vocals need to be more “buried” in the mix; otherwise, the song loses its impact when the vocals come in.

Also featuring Dudu Ferreira (drums) and Dani Meira (bass), AHPE is a Brazilian trio from the south of the country that delivers heavy, straight-to-the-point hardcore—the kind that appeals both to fans of the genre and to those who, deep down, have already crossed paths with someone like the character in the song. The band avoids confirming whether the lyrics have anyone specific in mind. Perhaps that’s precisely the intention: to leave the question open and let the listener’s conscience be the judge.
“Karma” sounds fierce, with guitars taking the lead, plenty of heavy riffs, and melody in its choruses. The track is catchy enough to be a single. Will there be a physical album for the guys in AHPE? Only time—and they themselves—will tell. In the meantime, “Karma” is available on major streaming platforms—we’ve listed the links below—as well as on these Brazilian brothers’ social media accounts…
