We’ve Reached Our First Anniversary!!!

We’re celebrating, in this date, we’ve reached our first year online with this project called www.delotroladometal.com.ar, and we’re grateful, first and foremost to God for keeping us going, and of course to you who read us, follow us, and support us. We are also grateful to all the bands, musicians, labels, etc., who support this totally independent movement and are committed to spreading the word about “White Metal,” and of course, to the national underground scene, regardless of creed, as we always make clear.
We wanted to publish this reflection, or editorial, as we do at the beginning of each month, with the image that our site had when we first started back in 2001. It’s a way of not forgetting where our journey began and what the ultimate goal is.
The road this year has been hard, difficult, and not without its challenges. It’s not easy to run a site like this, even though it may seem otherwise. We decided to take on the complicated part because, as we said when we launched this webzine, we don’t intend to be “influencers” or do streaming or ridiculous things on the internet or social media. We are not against that type of communication either, it’s just not our thing. The idea is to create a site or portal in the spirit of old publications and fanzines. It’s just for those who simply want to read, relax, get informed, look for new metal music, etc. The idea is to spread the word, nothing more than that, and in the old-fashioned way. We don’t care about the number of “likes” or interactions. Of course, we appreciate it when people on social media make us feel that what we do is not in vain, but that is not our priority. Our priority is to be a means of communication and a channel for disseminating a lot of metal music that does not reach the mainstream media.
As I write these lines, I am hearing the news of yet another bombing. Nothing new, of course. Apparently, things are solved with more death and destruction, and there is always someone to justify it. The world has become an increasingly dangerous place. Meanwhile, ideological divisions and idiocy blind our eyes, while those who own the game line their pockets with cash and think they can subdue others with bombs. That is the issue that many do not see, or do not seem to want to realize.
“Be an example of your thinking, give your time to those who will come, and with the basis of giving and loving, it will not be difficult to escape the end…” said V8 in “Antes Que Los Viejos Reyes” (Before the Old Kings), a true heavy metal anthem that some seem to have overlooked. The old kings are there, they are real, and they are the ones who divide, singing false hymns of love and burning innocent souls with their brilliance.
True freedom is not found in an ideology or in human thought. You find freedom when you discover the truth, and to seek the truth, there is no other choice but to seek the One who is the truth, the life, and the way. Perhaps the answer is much closer than you think…
As we have now reached our first anniversary, we are going to launch a new project. What is it? It is a kind of calendar with all the metal shows of the year here in Argentina, to publicize the dates of international visits and shows by national bands. We will try to keep it as up to date as possible, as a way of keeping ourselves informed about what is happening on the metal scene here in Argentina.
Future projects? We’re working on it. We don’t rest (and our minds even less), so God willing, we’ll be adding new things to this webzine. In this anniversary month, we’re going to have more interviews, news, updates, and album reviews, which we’re actually behind on and have a lot of material to publish. Thank God we’ve received a lot of material. We are grateful to the labels, mainly Extreme Records from Brazil and Nordic Mission from Norway for their support.
We’ll see you next month. In the meantime, enjoy what we publish every day, share it, and spread the word. The dissemination of metal is not done by one person alone, but is a daily struggle that involves everyone.
Oh, and to the owls who waste their time on stupid manuals and criticizing others, instead of talking so much and using and abusing AI, why don’t you dedicate yourselves to making real music and stop hurting people and dividing them….
Long live Heavy Metal!!!! And let’s keep fighting!!!! Don’t give up!!!!
