A Preview of What Will Be Their Third Album | Ícaro Releases the Song “Siendo Libre”
The Argentine band Ícaro has just released a preview of what will be their third album, with the release of the lyric video for “Siendo Libre.” The song is the lead single and also the title track of Ícaro’s highly anticipated third album, tentatively scheduled for release in late 2025. This studio session and lyric video introduce most of the band members and guests who will be featured on the album:
Horacio Gabriel Heredia on guitar and composition, Alejandra Tacla on vocals, and Éter on keyboard (both from the band Unakan from Jujuy), Lucas Sotelo on vocals and Facundo Maglione on the first guitar solo, from the bands Parko and Inmolador respectively (General Conesa and Choele Choel, Río Negro), Bernardo Saldivia on bass and Pepe Guagliarello on drums (as well as the second guitar solo), both from Puerto Madryn in the province of Chubut.
The complete album will be available on digital platforms and in physical CD format through the Tharseo Music Records label.

Regarding this new album, Horacio Heredia, guitarist and leader of Ícaro, told us in an extensive interview available on our website that “Half of the album consists of songs we already had, like in those years, ‘Heavy Metal’, which was released ahead of time on the reissue of the first album with Ariel Gomez on vocals and Mario Ian as a guest. At the same time, Mario Ian asked us for permission to make a version and uploaded it to his channel. We had already recorded that version in 2013. Those are songs that belonged to this album. In fact, half of the album had already been made some time ago. There is another part that has now been completed. There are three songs that are from the last stage of the band’s comeback, from 2023 to now.”
Horacio also remarked in relation to “Siendo Libre” that “Musically, Ícaro is still Ícaro. From the first, second, and third albums. From the guitar sounds to what is expressed in the lyrics. Each Ícaro album was a very personal moment, and there are songs where you will find that they speak to you about the love of heavy metal, about situations that one has to go through and that anyone can identify with, and this album is exactly the same. As for guitar sounds, we are in the traditional heavy metal sound of the ’80s because I can’t, I couldn’t do it any other way. I don’t see myself lowering the tuning and looking for current sounds; it’s not something I like. From the lyrics side, yes, the genuine feeling we always had, of expressing what we felt, what was happening to us, and the present. It has a lot to do with the present, and having been in charge of most of the songwriting in Ícaro, I can say with confidence that it’s still Ícaro. The essence of the band was to genuinely express what was happening to us, what we were feeling. The sound and the compositions are the same. You’ll find virtuosity now, perhaps in different guitarists, and that’s cool, but maintaining the simple essence of the band. The hook, the melody in the guitars and the vocals. The lyrics are very direct. “Siendo Libre” will tell you, in a way, the same thing that Ícaro told you on the first album, what was happening, what happened on the second album, and what is happening at this stage, on this third album, a long time later. There is a message on the cover, there is a message in the title, and that is what we want to express at some point, which is very important. To understand the purpose that God had for each of us as His creation. In my case, it happened 48 years later, and the truth is that it’s the happiest and most beautiful stage of my life. And to be able to be here again making music is a reward for me and for all my bandmates.”
As always, “Siendo Libre” once again highlights the spirit of true heavy metal, which Ícaro knows how to represent well. We leave you with the lyric video so you can listen to and enjoy this preview that prepares us for what will be Ícaro’s new album.
