Thrash Metal In An Acoustic Format | “Resonancias” Is The New Release From Methal Kyrios
Yes, you read that right. Thrash metal without distortion? Is that even possible? Well, the guys from Methal Kyrios give us the answer with “Resonancias,” an album they’ve just released—for now, exclusively on digital platforms.
For those who don’t know, Methal Kyrios is a prominent thrash metal band based in the Argentine province of La Pampa, and they currently have two albums out (“Disipando Tinieblas” and “Síndrome Oscuro”). Indeed, “Resonancias” is a live album recorded in an acoustic format, featuring the session the band recorded at BDC Radio in 2025. It consists of 10 tracks, including 7 acoustic covers from their two albums, plus a new instrumental track titled “Natura Réquiem,” and three interview excerpts.

In this work, we can see and hear Methal Kyrios’ music and artistic vision from a completely different angle. I always say that acoustic formats are capable of revealing the composition and structure of each song—a quality any band can draw upon—and the proof is more than satisfactory for this band from La Pampa, as they successfully adapt their intense tracks to a simple and direct format.
To achieve this, they have naturally relied on acoustic guitars, with a bass that showcases its interesting lines in all their splendor and simple, light percussion, giving Methal Kyrios’ material a different feel than what we’re used to and revealing the essence of the band’s music from within. It’s not easy to pull off such experimentation, and Methal Kyrios more than succeeds in the endeavor.
Among the tracks recorded for this occasion, we’ll find well-known Methal Kyrios songs such as “Sepulturero,” “Herencia Seré” (a tremendous cover), and “Devorando Especies,” from their latest album, but we also come across interesting renditions of “Clave,” “Sacrificio,” and “Entre Llamas” from their debut album, plus the previously unreleased “Natura Réquiem,” a completely instrumental piece.
There’s also time for excerpts from the interview the band gave on the aforementioned radio station, allowing us to get to know Methal Kyrios a little better and hear everything they have to say.
Methal Kyrios’ strength lies in their ability to adapt songs—which were originally conceived to shine with the fury of thrash metal—to an acoustic format, giving them a unique touch that allows listeners to truly appreciate these compositions.

Pre-production was handled by MK PROD, Mauro Queupul, and Franco Lambrecht, with the latter also serving as the recording engineer and overseeing the post-production, mixing, and mastering of this material at “Shore Prod.” It’s also worth noting that Mauro Queupul was responsible for the additional recordings added during post-production.
The result of the production is excellent, successfully capturing Methal Kyrios’ sound in a format that’s unusual for the genre, highlighting the band’s evolution and showcasing another side of their compositions.
The album cover is the work of photographer Elías Barrionuevo, who captures an image that evokes many emotions and gives this work an extra reason to delve deeper into it.
This album, recorded live in an acoustic format, is available on digital platforms. Below, we’ve included the track “Sacrificio,” one of the songs selected for this interesting acoustic set, and of course, we’ve also provided the band’s social media links so you can follow them and stay up to date on their latest news…
