GodArchy Zine No. 1 – July 2003
No, we haven’t gone over to punk rock or anything like that, but we couldn’t resist uploading this fanzine. Not so much for its graphic quality, but for its content and because it was made with enthusiasm, passion, and in the old-school way, with a typewriter and photocopies!!!!
The authors and protagonists of this particular zine are none other than the members of an old and beloved radio program, “No Te Rindas,” known at the time in the southern part of Buenos Aires, which covered everything alternative. Extreme metal, punk rock, hardcore, thrash, etc. “Vaky” Ramirez and his comrades are responsible for this zine, which has a very 80s “punk” feel, with the rudimentary simplicity of independent publications. However, we will see that its content is not exclusively focused on punk, since beyond information about Headnoise or MxPx, we will find things about Mortification, Demon Hunter, Antidemon, Apologética, 3rd Root, etc. All presented in “punk” style.
Nostalgia for those years overwhelms me. Those were beautiful times when we didn’t care about anything, absolutely anything. Just to send a message. That was always the main idea behind everything.
Logically, the fanzine did not have the continuity or seriousness that would allow it to be published more or less periodically. It was something that came out at the time and was done and distributed everywhere. I kept this copy as a souvenir, and since I believe in brotherhood and sharing, here it is for download in PDF format.
As a curiosity, you will find advertisements not only for the program “No Te Rindas” but also for “Del Otro Lado” (yes, the same guy who is writing this article). Oh, and as you will see, this website already existed in those years. Proof that when you join forces, you can do cool things and not just show off everywhere.
Will “No Te Rindas” return? A while ago, the program was revived but remained on standby. Who knows, maybe soon we’ll have a well-known broadcast channel back on the air. Let’s hope so…
