Rey Parra Tells Us About Plans For This Year | The 2026 Sacred Warrior
Sacred Warrior is a Metal legend. Its history, dating back to the distant 1980s, is pure Heavy Metal, classic and traditional, and despite the comings and goings, the band is still active today with its original vocalist, Rey Parra, who rejoined the band a few years ago.
In that sense, it was necessary to ask Rey Parra himself about Sacred Warrior’s current situation and what 2026 will bring for them. Last year, Sacred Warrior performed on stage at “Immortal Fest 2025,” and it seems that the band plans to do so again. “We are playing at Immortal Festival again this year.” Rey Parra confirmed.

It is not easy for the band to play and rehearse, but apparently, they have found a way to do so and keep the fire alive. “Sacred warrior has always been a hard working band and with us living in three different states, the guys in Illinois, Larry in Oklahoma and myself in Florida, you can only imaging the challenges we face for rehearsal. So Steve Watkins our bass player is a genius when it comes to electronics and computers, Steve developed a way for us to rehearse through our computers and monitors to make it seem like we are all in the same room. We have been rehearsing once a week year Round. Whether we have a show or not. This keeps us tight. We will then get together a couple of days prior to a gig so we can actually rehearse as a band”, the iconic vocalist of Sacred Warrior told us.
But it’s not all about “Immortal Fest 2026” for Sacred Warrior. The band plans to schedule some concerts this year, as Rey Parra confirmed to us. “We are currently working on booking a few more shows this year. We had to cancel our Europe tour due to sickness but I am better now and will be ready for shows before you know it”, he assured.

As you can imagine, we had to ask about new music or a new album from Sacred Warrior. In that regard, Rey Parra told us that “As far as new music goes, we are currently working on a few songs but no particular time can I give you as far as release goes. But yes you should see some new music from us this year”; So, in principle, there won’t be a new album, but perhaps a few new tracks from Sacred Warrior, which is no small thing.
In any case, the good news is that the band is still active and performing live. Throughout its history, Sacred Warrior has released cult albums that are still truly impeccable today. Albums such as “Master’s Command,” “Rebellion,” and “Wicked Generation” are a very important part of the history of so-called White Metal, and perhaps even more important is the message that the band has conveyed throughout its career.
In this regard, Rey Parra shared his thoughts on the classic status that several of Sacred Warrior’s albums have achieved. “I am tottaly blown away by God´s mercy towards Sacred Warrior and how over the years he has used our music to reach people. Even to this day I hear from people who have recently heard Warrior for the first time and tell us that it really ministers to them. I am so honored. We all are.”

Of course, Sacred Warrior is a living legend, and as long as they are alive, they will continue to plan, in principle, to perform at “Immortal Fest 2026” alongside other classic bands, and perhaps some more concerts, and who knows, maybe we will get to hear something new. In the meantime, we leave you with this “video essay” that shows Sacred Warrior in all their glory performing “War Torn Hero,” a song from their 1990 album “Wicked Generation.” And yes, as expected, we leave you with the coordinates to find the band on social media, so you can follow them and stay tuned for their latest news…
