As Part Of Their 20th Anniversary Tour For “Shadows Are Security” | As I Lay Dying Returns To Argentina And Latin America
Another anniversary, and counting. What seemed like a nice idea at first now seems to have turned into a real pandemic that has even reached As I Lay Dying, who, without hesitation, have joined the wave of bands touring to commemorate a classic album, in this case “Shadows Are Security,” a record that somehow elevated them to one of the pillars of the most modern metal scene (at that time).
It’s true, between the release of “Shadows Are Security” and now in 2026, things have happened, and some of the worst for Tim Lambesis, who continues to front the band, which no longer has any members from those years. We are not going to recount everything that happened, nor are we going to pass judgment, but it is worth noting that, in a way, As I Lay Dying rose from the ashes and with a totally new lineup, it took to the stage again, even with the new album “Through Storms Ahead,” which was released in 2024 and allowed Tim Lambesis and his boys to go on tour, which would even take them to these pampas in 2025, something that ultimately did not happen due to internal problems within the band itself, which would eventually lead to a new lineup.

2026 looks set to be a comeback year for the band’s fans, as As I Lay Dying will bring their “Shadows Are Security” anniversary tour to Argentina and other countries in the region, such as Brazil, Peru, and Chile, in principle. The announced dates are as follows:
- 04/27 Teatro Leguía, Lima, Peru
- 04/29 Coliseo, Santiago, Chile
- 05/01 Teatro Flores, Buenos Aires, Argentina
- 05/03 Vip Station, Sao Paulo, Brazil
As I Lay Dying has been conducting this anniversary tour in several European countries, including several dates announced in Russia in March of this year. Next up will be Latin America.

The curious thing about this is that, beyond celebrating 20 years of “Shadows Are Security,” perhaps one of the band’s finest moments, none of the members who shaped that album remain in the band today, except, of course, Tim Lambesis. Apparently, that hasn’t made a dent in the controversial vocalist, and so As I Lay Dying, even with its current lineup, is jumping on the bandwagon of celebrating and remembering classic albums.
In any case, this tour is not the only thing As I Lay Dying has to offer. The band, with its new lineup, recently released two singles with video clips for the new songs “Echoes” and “If I Fall,” heralded as a return to a more powerful sound and the beginning of a new era for the band.

“Shadows Are Security” is already 20 years old (which makes us think about how old we are…), and beyond everything surrounding As I Lay Dying, this is a good excuse to take a trip down memory lane, go back in time to the band’s best moments, and enjoy a great show that only As I Lay Dying can deliver.
Here are the band’s last two singles, for those who want to find out what’s new with As I Lay Dying, and of course, the coordinates to find them on social media and stay tuned for news about the Latin American tour…
