For some time now, Sweden’s All For The King has been surprising us with a high-caliber melodic heavy metal sound. A kind of metal-based Christian church hymns, performed in compositions with a great deal of imagination and creativity, give All For The King a unique aura. Yes, perhaps for many the combination is not the most ideal, but they really surprise us album after album.
Since their formation in 2016, All For The King has already released three albums, including “Darkest Before Dawn,” their latest release from 2024, which is already in our archives and which we have reviewed in a timely manner, always faithful to our style.

Based on various reports circulating about the future of All For The King as a band, we thought it appropriate to contact Ricard Hulteke, their vocalist, who, in relation to the band’s current situation since the release of “Darkest Before Dawn,” confirmed the departure of Erik Tilling, the group’s guitarist. “Me and my cofounder colleague Erik founded the band. His wife and him didn’t make it. After a long process they divorced. Though and very hard for my friend.” He added, “He needed to redesign his life around the fact being a part time parent. More specifically Götheborg time he had to spend on things beside work and kids was less. His conclusion was There was no time for the band.”
However, that wasn’t the deciding factor in ending All For The King as a band, according to Ricard: “Me and the others didn’t felt that way but very firmed beloved there was still a calling on us to keep on preaching the gospel. We did a concert back in March on the Light the Dark Festival in Sweden together with Samuel ”Sama” Helmner as a guitarist. It was a great gig and our first with the new album songs and with a lot of first time ever played songs.”
In the meantime, in addition to announcing Erik Tilling’s departure from the band, it was recently announced that CJ Grimmark from Narnia would be All For The King’s interim guitarist for concerts between now and possibly early 2026.
The bottom line is that, despite the difficulties, All For The King is moving forward and looking to the future. So it’s no surprise that the band is working on new material. “We’re thinking a lot about a new album”, Ricard Hulteke told us. “We have at least a handful of songs ready (5-6) and this weekend we’re getting together to co-write new songs.”

Beyond that, Ricard acknowledges that with regard to what’s coming in 2026, “We believe we need some kind of management that can promote us to festivals and such. We are in a ”all or nothing” kind of moment right now”; so in principle, nothing has been confirmed yet regarding future performances by the band, although it is true that All For The King is working on new stuff, about which Ricard did not want to reveal many details. “Still no title I can reveal. We have the album cover ready and a name we pray over but nothing is decided.”
All For The King is moving forward. Their future is still unclear, but one thing is certain. The band is not stopping and is working hard for what’s to come. A new album is on the horizon, and we will surely be keeping an eye out for news from the Swedes.
