Free Prepares His First Album | Strong Hard Rock
Free is the project of Sergio Free, former drummer for Hugo Lopez of Heart u Heart, a classic band if ever there was one. Sergio accompanied Hugo Lopez on drums for 15 years, playing classic Heart u Heart songs and their own songs, eventually releasing the album “Fuego,” which is available to listen to on YouTube, along with two music videos, one of which was filmed in one of the most prestigious studios in Buenos Aires, “La Nave de Oseberg.”
After Hugo sadly passed away in 2022, and after the mourning that such a loss entailed, Sergio Free got down to work, and “Free” emerged, a band focused on Hard Rock, which is currently performing some covers of Stryper, Heart, and Guardian, among others, as well as their own songs that they are preparing. In Sergio’s words, regarding the birth of this project, “I felt guided by God to form this band, ‘Free’; we gave it that name because we are free with God because He removed all bonds, grudges, and malice from us.”
The band is made up of Sergio Free on drums and vocals, Charly Sayago on guitar, and Sebastián Gerez on bass. In addition, Mario Ian, Tommy Montenegro, guitarists Gustavo Sciola and Walter Estebez, among others, have participated in some of their songs. The band’s idea is to continue recording and presenting new songs on digital platforms until they can release their first album, which they plan to present next summer with the participation of all these guests.
The band sounds strong, precise, and with a style that emulates the old and beloved Hard Rock of the ’80s, so we recommend following their steps.
