Silence The Echo just dropped a new single, along with a music video, which is now available on all the major digital platforms. The song is called “Burn Deep Within” and shows off the band at their best, giving us a sneak peek at what their debut album will be like.
In this regard, Jani Stefanovic, the band’s guitarist, told us that both “Burn Deep Within” and their previous singles “Don’t Give Up” and “Into Serenity” will be part of their upcoming album, which will be Silence The Echo’s first full-length release. “We have not decided on the title yet but the album will be released in late fall around October 2025. Pre-orders will be available soon.”
Silence The Echo emerged in 2022 from the creative synergy between vocalist Katja Stefanovic and her husband, renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Jani Stefanovic (ex-Solution .45, Miseration), with whom we were in contact on this occasion. What began as the bold vision of a duo has become a full band consisting of Teemu Rautiainen (ex-One Morning Left) on guitar, Nikke Karaksela (Frail, Ocean Dark) on drums, and Tommi Huuskonen (Ocean Dark) on bass.
According to Jani Stefanovic, the band’s name has to do with the idea that “The world is filled with opinions and often demands that we should all be alike. This is the correct opinion, so you should all think like this or that. Ideas, voices controlling the masses. We say with Silence The Echo that No, we are not the echo, be the voice. Be your self, stand firm behind your values, convictions instead of being pushed or forced into a certain mold. Be what you’re supposed to be and not a puppet who is controlled by whatever agenda it may be.”
This first album will be Silence The Echo’s debut record, and expectations are high for the great work the band has been doing in this regard. “The recording of these songs happen in our own home studio”, says Jani, “drums is recorded in our drummers own studio. Composing and overall production is done by Jani & Katja Stefanovic. On a few songs we have had Jonas Ekdahl (ex. Evergrey) & Andreas Björkman as co-producers. Mixing is handled by Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson at Panic Room Studios, Sweden. Mastering done by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound & Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson at Panic Room Studios. The album will have 10 tracks.”; so we can expect it to be a great album for the band.
Both “Burn Deep Within” and the other singles released so far show Silence The Echo attempting a mixture of traditional metalcore, groove, and more modern elements, all nuanced by the voice of Katja Stefanovic, who is emerging as one of the best voices on the metal scene. Regarding the band’s musical style, Jani Stefanovic defines Silence The Echo’s sound as “a mixture of modern metal / metalcore styled band. Low tuned groovy, electronic, ambient and atmospheric parts. Mixing aggressive and beautiful.”
While the release of this album is eagerly awaited, the band is already thinking about a possible tour to promote it. “We are definitely looking into getting out on the road. Scouting for opportunities with a couple of gigs already booked. But yeah, hopefully we’ll manage to land more gigs / tours”, says Stefanovic.
