Their New Single Is Now Available | Burial Extraction Reveals “Overseer”
The Death Metal band from Dallas, TX, releases a new single titled “Overseer,” which is now available in digital format on social media. This track is a preview of what’s to come for Burial Extraction. The band assures us that “The Overseer is off of our upcoming release. We’re recording over at Corzine Studio in Amarillo, Texas. The five-song E.P. is going to be called “Rotting Flesh”, as of now, but sometimes, you never know until we release it.”
Regarding the musical direction Burial Extraction has taken in “Overseer,” the band states that “We’re going in a heavier direction with these new tracks; faster and more abrupt. I think fans will notice it right away with The Overseer, our new logo, and the artwork that we’ve done with Nekromold, who’s a great artist!”
In “Overseer,” you can hear Burial Extraction returning to the roots of pure death metal, with a powerful, direct sound that is much more heavy metal than ever before. “Other than a track or two, I think these songs are a little more straightforward, not as melodic or as much groove as we did on the last couple of releases. I’ve been listening to a lot of early Mortification, Crimson Thorn, some Carcass, Entombed, and Necroblation which I think has influenced some of these tracks.”; said the band, referring to both this new single and the new songs that will be included on their upcoming EP.
Regarding the lyrics of “Overseer,” Burial Extraction has told us that “Our songs are all based on our faith and these new tracks are no exception to that. We dive deep into theological concepts and wrestle with life and death in our music. If you ask me, it’s pure Death Metal!!”
