Preview Of Their Upcoming EP And Something Else? | Fear Not Releases “Crashin’ Down”
I was pleasantly surprised by this new single from Fear Not, an American band that back in the mid ’90s released a single album, focused on Californian Hard Rock or Hair Metal. Well, forget about all that. This Fear Not is something else, and much more Metal than ever!!!!
“Crashin’ Down” is the new single that the band has just released; the newest since their previous 2022 album ‘Fields Of Sorrow’ which was their first full-length in almost 30 years. Well, this new song is the cornerstone of the next stuff that the band will release soon, an EP which will be called “Weight Of The World”, about “Crashin’ Down”, Larry Worley told us that “It is a preview of what’s to come! When I first started writing for the new album it was leaning more towards the 80’s style metal but as I kept coming up with ideas things seemed to get a little heavier vibe so I went with it. The guys really liked the direction and when they came in with their parts I knew we had something pretty good and more in our wheel house.”

A few days ago, Roxx Records revealed that “Crashin’ Down” is actually the teaser for an upcoming EP titled “Weight Of The World”, but the historic Fear Not guitarist further revealed to us that “It will be a 5 song EP on CD that will eventually have 7 more songs by the end of the year and that will be released on an LP with a new title and art work. The EP will be Released at the end of June.”
Regarding what we can expect musically from Fear Not on this new stuff, Larry Worley was telling us that “We always tell ourselves “no law, no rules” when writing new material. Meaning we don’t have any preconceived ideas or direction that we are trying to create. What ever ideas I come up with I send to the guys and most of the time they like what I came up with and I just start moving ahead with it. It’s definitely a little more heavier than the 1993 and Fields of Sorrow. But somehow always ends up sounding like us! Eddie’s will sometimes ask me to write a certain way to the lyrics he has as well. He’ll say make this heavy or do this with a bluesy swampy sound. But like I said it always sounds like Fear Not in the end.”

This return of Fear Not has a history, and Larry tells us some of those details of how it was that the band came back again, “We were contacted by Roxx records about releasing the 1993 as a remaster on Vinyl so I contacted the guys and mind you we haven’t really spoken in years and we all agreed. About that same time we had some friends who set up just a jam weekend for us so we got together played some of the old songs and just felt natural so we knew God was up to something and decided to start writing and doing shows again and it has been an absolute blessing and we will continue to keep on keeping on until the Lord completes what he has for Fear Not.”
I have no doubt, “Crashin’ Down” is a great track, short, direct and strong. Here is the link to listen to this single and stay tuned for more from the band….
