This is who we are

Delotroladometal is a project that began many years ago. In fact, it all started in 2001 as a radio program in the southern part of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Del Otro Lado, on the radio, lasted exactly five years, during which time it gave wide coverage to the White Metal or Christian Metal scene.

At that time, broadcasts began, first pre-recorded and then live, via the internet, something unprecedented at the time. During those years, a webzine linked to the radio program was launched, featuring news, reviews, album reviews, interviews, etc. All of this continued until 2006, when, for various personal and financial reasons, we had to put the project on hold. The idea was always to provide a platform for everything related to so-called White Metal, or Christian Metal, or whatever you want to call it, since this genre never got the exposure we thought it deserved.

In 2025, we saw the possibility of getting started again, and so delotroladometal.com.ar is back online, with a different format but with the same spirit as always, and that’s why we’re going to continue with the same idea, but expanding our horizons. No, we’re not going to devote ourselves to Hip Hop or derivatives, so don’t worry. Metal occupies a very important place in our hearts and minds, and for that reason, this space will be dedicated not only to promoting bands and projects related to the Christian faith, so to speak, but also to the Heavy Metal scene in general, particularly the national scene from Argentina. At this point, division is not an option, and we firmly believe that unity is strength. We don’t buy into the nonsense of “I don’t listen to such-and-such band because they’re christians or because they’re Satanists.” Everyone has their own beliefs, faith, principles, and values. Heavy metal has historically championed this and, above all, opened minds. That’s what we’re aiming for.

That said, it should also be noted that we are not motivated by any desire for profit, nor do we want to be out there competing with other media outlets that also contribute to the dissemination of Metal. In fact, the name of this project has to do, among other things, with being on a different wavelength. Not better or worse, just on a different wavelength.

In this new version of the website, you will find news, reviews of concerts, demos, albums (new and cult), interviews, and everything else we can think of to make it more enjoyable and interesting. Of course, and in line with our belief that Metal knows no borders, we are going to try a mirror site in English to broaden the scope, especially for those who do not speak our language. So, as long as time, work, and other stuff allow, we’ll work to make the content bilingual.

We could have done something more “modern,” as is demanded these days. That is, streaming, videos on different social networks, polls about who’s better, and nonsense like that. The truth is that we’re old, and we’re not too interested in new forms of communication. We prefer the written word and that is why, without prejudice to any grammatical errors we may make, we aim at people who, even today, prefer the comfortable and simple reading of a written text, which never hurts, in the style of an “old school” fanzine.

We review albums using physical material, as this is what we prefer when analyzing an album. However, in the case of digital-only releases, we still do a brief review, as we are aware of the difficulty of releasing an album, especially for underground and independent bands.

It is worth noting that this webzine is completely independent, produced through our own efforts and without financial support or sponsorship of any kind. Everything is done on a shoestring budget, as we do not do this for profit but for difussion, and knowing that the investment and costs will not be recovered (we don’t care). We are passionate about Metal and we promote the scene without regard for material gains.

All material on this website is free to use, you can share it or even use it in other media. The only thing we ask is that you indicate our authorship.
