We finally have the complete lineup for the “Light The Dark” festival, which will take place March 19–20 at Arbis in Norrköping, Sweden, featuring top-tier acts such as Extol, Bride, Altira, Jerusalem, Charizma, and Nicke Borg Homeland. They are the headliners of this exciting festival, which, year after year, has established itself as one of the most compelling events in European White Metal.
In a short time, “Light The Dark” has established itself as Scandinavia’s largest Rock and Hard Rock festival with a Christian foundation. The festival offers a well-balanced mix of various Rock and Hard Rock styles, attracting visitors from around 15 different countries each year.
In 2027, the festival will be held for the third time, once again taking place at Arbis in Norrköping.
Since its inception, the festival’s goal has been to “spread light in the darkness”, and it therefore books bands and artists whose lyrics are positive and uplifting.

Bride: When Stryper took a hiatus in the early 1990s, Bride took over as the biggest Christian Hard Rock band. The band has now decided to call it quits. Their performance at “Light The Dark” will be their final concert in Europe, 30 years after their last performance in Sweden.
Extol: This Norwegian progressive Death/Thrash band (led by Ole Børud!) has recently returned with its first new album since 2013. It’s been just as long since the band last played in Sweden, making their performance at “Light The Dark” a unique opportunity to see them live.
Altira: As the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated band Fireflight, Dawn Michele achieved great success. Her new all-female band, Altira, is enjoying similar success; they’ve already topped several U.S. charts and shared the stage with big names like Skillet and Disciple. Their performance at “Light The Dark” will mark the band’s European debut.
Jerusalem: A classic Swedish Hard Rock band formed in 1975. During part of their set, they will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the album “Dancing On The Head Of The Serpent.”
Nicke Borg Homeland: The former lead singer of Backyard Babies. He will perform acoustic versions of songs from his solo project, Nicke Borg Homeland, as well as Backyard Babies’ greatest hits, all spiced up with a few carefully selected covers.
Charizma: In the late 1980s, Charizma rubbed shoulders with the rock stars of the era on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip. In the early 1990s, they achieved success in Estonia—where they reached number one—and sold over 40,000 albums throughout the former Soviet Union. Later, in the early 2000s, they even made it into the top three on the official Swedish music charts! “Light The Dark” offers a new and unique opportunity to see them live!
But that’s not all—there’s even more, much more in store at “Light The Dark.” Crimson Moonlight will also be part of the lineup, and they’ll take this opportunity to celebrate 30 years as a band, as well as a Swedish Black Metal band that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027.
Other must-see acts include Immortal Souls, Finnish legends of Melodic Death Metal who have signed record deals in the U.S.; White Hotel, hailing from Norway with their modern melodic rock; and Angelic Forces, the well-known classic Heavy Metal band from the Netherlands.

Also performing will be Seven Spirits Burning, an internationally recognized Metalcore band from the Netherlands, and Soundless Whisper, a Swedish Rock and Hard Rock group with gothic influences.
The alternative and unique scene will be represented by bands like Vanishing Conspiracy, from Linköping, Sweden—whose members range in age from 16 to 18 and play grunge—as well as Barriers, an old-school Hardcore band from Northern Ireland, and Peter 118, representing melodic Punk Rock from England. Also worth mentioning is Colonsay from the U.S., which offers a blend of grunge and alternative rock, and The Crazymen, a garage punk band from Motala, Sweden, which will present its new album at “Light The Dark.”
Ten Cubits High, a promising Swedish folk-rock/alt-country duo from Lund, Sweden, seems to offer a unique take on the genre.
Another interesting band set to perform at the “Light The Dark” festival is Sevenforce, a group from Stockholm, Sweden, that plays classic hard rock and features members of Cell 9 and Veni Domine.
The extreme side of the festival also gets its share with performances by Demoniciduth, a veteran raw and direct Black Metal band, and Abyssal Forest from Brazil, the only South American acts at the festival.
Finally, we have I Am The Deceiver, a high-quality German metalcore band from Hamburg, alongside Proclaimer, another Swedish Progressive Rock band; Safeground, with their ’70s-inspired rock; and The Jesusfreak Experience, a tribute band dedicated to ’60s and ’70s “Christian rock” from Jönköping, Sweden.
All in all, it will be a great opportunity to see and hear a variety of interesting acts—not only within the Metal genre but also in other more alternative or rock-oriented styles. The bottom line is that the 2027 edition of “Light The Dark” is going all out, and it will take place on March 19 and 20, 2027.
