The Stoner Band From Mendoza Teases New Developments |

Lineup Changes And New Horizons For RUIDO

We previously covered the EP “Seis Monedas Para Caronte”, released by the Mendoza-based band RUIDO—a truly intriguing project rooted in a style centered on Stoner Rock, Doom, and Sludge, taking listeners on a fascinating psychedelic journey through the raw and heavy wilderness.
The truth is that RUIDO has undergone some lineup changes and is already thinking about new material—none other than the follow-up to “Seis Monedas Para Caronte.”
The band itself tells us that after a long search, they finally found in Gino Bailone the right drummer for this new phase. However, shortly thereafter, Rober Aguilar, R U I D O’s founding bassist, decided to leave the band for personal reasons. This led the band to begin a new search to complete the lineup, a process that ultimately resulted in the addition of Luis Sanguinet on bass.

Today, with this new lineup—featuring Gino on drums and Luis on bass—RUIDO is ready to resume activities, plan upcoming shows, and begin working on the follow-up to “Seis Monedas Para Caronte.”
The band posted on social media: “After a year of silence, we’re happy to get everything back on track. New rehearsals are coming up, along with planning upcoming dates and working on our next album. We have a lot of material in the works and can’t wait for it to see the light of day. We hope to share it with you very soon. RUIDO is back, and this is just the beginning.”

By the way, I’d like to mention that the EP “Seis Monedas Para Caronte” is a truly interesting work, drawing on a range of influences from Black Sabbath to Kyuss and everything in the stoner and doom genres.
Best of all is the sound RUIDO achieves—a recording that preserves the essence of their natural sound, without any studio embellishments. RUIDO sounds raw and heavy, with powerful, psychedelic guitars. It’s definitely worth a listen.
Below, we’ve included the full EP so you can check out this interesting band, and of course, their social media links so you can follow them and stay up to date on their latest news…
