Many people may not be familiar with Tundra, and that’s understandable. They’re a relatively new band, despite already having two albums under their belt. Formed in Topeka, Kansas, in 2019, Tundra naturally hasn’t had a long career yet. It was in the fateful year of 2020 that they released their first album entirely independently, titled “Wastelands”, which introduced them to the world. With this album, they began to develop a unique approach and style within the genre commonly known as Deathcore.
From there, they released several singles on social media until the band signed with Rottweiler Records and released their second album, “Eternal”, in 2025. This album marked a major step forward for Tundra, as their music expanded to incorporate new influences and explore new sonic territories, earning them international recognition.

Now it’s time for a sort of compilation of classic tracks that have been re-recorded for the occasion, featuring reimagined versions and electrifying new material that come together to form “Eclipse”, announced for November 27, 2026, as the official release date.
The guys in Tundra have a healthy dose of madness (in a good way, right?) that drives them to venture into a genre that hasn’t been overly explored. Yes, there are traces of metalcore, the now-defunct nu metal, industrial elements, and everything that sounds and feels like Extreme Metal. All these combinations, plus the band’s boundless imagination, take their sound to levels entirely different from what we’ve heard on their previous release.
Tundra has decided to delve deeper into their unique style and push it to extremes never seen before. To that end, they’ve prepared “Eclipse”, an EP featuring just five songs, which—thanks to the kindness of Rottweiler Records and the folks at Imperative PR—we can listen to ahead of its release.

“Vampires” is just the beginning, and Tundra makes clear their tendency to push toward the extreme, incorporating elements of Metalcore, the roughest and deepest Nü Metal, and certain industrial and progressive influences. With its strange, jarring rhythm and fairly slow tempo, the track truly imbues everything with a sense of decay—but that’s just the beginning.
It might seem like “Corruption” would follow the same path, but here Tundra leans more toward death metal with some rather distinctive riffs—though, of course, keep in mind that this is a track from their debut album, revamped and re-recorded for this occasion; “Undead” is another classic, this time from the album “Eternal”, and here you can see Tundra’s tendency toward something more technical and progressive, incorporating various ambient sounds into their already quite dark and atmospheric sound—not to mention just how destructive and powerful the band sounds.
There’s also room for a couple of covers; “Lying From You” by Linkin Park is one of them, and to be honest, we’re not sure if it’s meant to be taken entirely seriously. It seems more like a funny parody, in a way, but with “Haunted” by Evanescence, things take a different—and even surprising—turn. It’s a great way to demonstrate how to take a song that’s clearly not in Tundra’s usual style to the extreme.
All in all, the final tally includes one new track, two tracks taken from their previous releases, and two covers. Everything is unified by a consistent production sound, which gives this new work a distinctive touch.

In that sense, “Eclipse” could well be seen as a sort of calling card for Tundra—a band that already has two albums under its belt but which, with this EP, seems intent on offering a summary of its history and perhaps even bringing a chapter to a close.
Incidentally, “Eclipse” was mastered by Daniel Keebler McKay (who has previously worked with bands such as Voluntary Mortification, Cleansing Of The Temple, etc.), and its official release is scheduled for November 27 of this year via Rottweiler Records.
In the meantime, the track “Vampires” is available on social media—we’ve included it below as a preview of “Eclipse”, the new release from Tundra. We’ve also included their social media links below so you can follow them and stay up to date on their latest news…
