“Human Cult” Is His First Released Song | Celso Alves Presents His Solo Project
We had previously announced what was coming. Celso Alves, lead vocalist of the Brazilian band Allos, is taking a break from the band to announce his own solo project, for which he has just released the track “Human Cult” as a single, now available on digital platforms.
This new track, released just a few days ago, is the first of several new songs Celso Alves has been preparing. In other words, each new single will feature different guest musicians and collaborations, with the aim of exploring different facets of Heavy Metal. So, in addition to enjoying “Human Cult,” we’ll have to wait and see (and hear) what’s coming next.
In fact, a while back, Celso told us the following about this new project. “I can exclusively reveal that I’m currently working on a new solo project,” he told us at the time. “The first single has already been recorded and is now in the mixing phase, with its release scheduled for August 2026. It’s a completely different project from what I do with Allos, leaning much more toward traditional Heavy Metal.”
And indeed, “Human Cult” bears no resemblance to what Celso has accustomed us to with Allos. This time around, he’s set aside Power Metal to focus on traditional Heavy Metal with plenty of aggressive riffs and a heavy, solid foundation, drawing musical influence from bands like Judas Priest, Accept, and Primal Fear, to name a few. This first single moves at a moderate but steady and fierce pace, managing to convey a true display of strength and power, combining this with just the right melodies to give birth to a truly interesting track.
Regarding “Human Cult,” Celso had this to say, recounting the song’s origins: “I wrote ‘Human Cult’ during the pandemic. At the time, I titled it “Overloaded Mind” because I was beginning to suffer from burnout that worsened to the point that, shortly afterward, it nearly led to my death. I set it aside for years; it matured with me and took on new meaning. When the time came to record it and I sat down to write the lyrics, I had already recovered and felt that revisiting that topic no longer made sense—and that writing ‘Human Cult’ much better conveyed the message I wanted to share at that moment! I definitely don’t want to be part of any “Human Cult,” for my breath is dedicated to the winds that no current can tame! Today, at last, it has seen the light of day—without shortcuts, without any major structures behind it. Only with the conviction that some stories must be told, even when the path is more difficult.”
For this new project—and specifically for “Human Cult”—Celso Alves has brought together Fil Ferrer on guitar, Fernando Poi on bass, Junior Guedes on drums, and Marco Amorim on keyboards. This project runs parallel to Allos but sets itself apart from that band’s style, taking a much more aggressive and heavy direction. Another noteworthy detail is that “Human Cult” was mixed by Viktor Stenquist—already known for his work with Narnia, DragonForce, and Allos themselves—and mastered by Tony Lindgren, another well-known sound engineer within the scene, no less, which in and of itself demonstrates the seriousness and significant commitment behind this new project by Celso Alves.
“Human Cult” is the first step in what promises to be a very promising new venture for Celso Alves, but this doesn’t mean Allos has been put on the back burner. Celso himself assured us some time ago that, regarding Allos, “I sincerely hope that Allos will return someday to record and release the songs we’ve already started composing. And when that day comes, I’ll be ready to give it my all,” though he first clarified that “…Until then, I’ll definitely remain active in the music world.”
And for Celso, staying active means this new project he’s just unveiled with “Human Cult”—the first track that feels like the beginning, the tip of the iceberg, for something that holds great promise.
