“Between Blood And Silence” Is Mangled Carpenter's New Release | Let Grindcore Embrace Us
It had been a while since I’d checked out the grindcore genre, and to be honest, I’d kind of lost touch with what’s going on in the scene. Mangled Carpenter gave us a wake-up call with this powerful and intense upcoming release. We’re talking about “Between Blood And Silence,” which will be their new EP, officially set for release on July 17. Thanks to the kindness of Rottweiler Records and Broken Curfew Records, we have a sneak peek at what this promising new release will be like—and it looks set to be one of the best things of 2026.

In chaos, flame, and slaughter, only madness and devils seemed near. In that cold, grey place of dying, where hope had never spoken a word of comfort, there was every reason to believe the end would come in complete isolation. But knee-deep in gore and sin, in the violence of desperate savagery and the damp loneliness of fear, between the axe and the darkness, between blood and silence, there was still a voice that spoke. That is the introduction with which Mangled Carpenter announces “Between Blood And Silence,” a release set to come out as an EP, consisting of just 6 tracks, but which, in its short duration, can significantly crush the ears, the mind, and the soul of anyone who dares to venture into these lands.
With crushing beats, heavy and fast riffs, and the brutality of grindcore, Mangled Carpenter offers an updated version of their style, with a sound more in tune with the times and exploring different territories, yet without compromising the extreme nature of their music.
“Between Blood And Silence” is technically the follow-up to their previous 2023 EP, “Salvation Syndrome”. Led by Seth Metoyer, alongside Kris Olson and Mac Hine, the band continues to build on a foundation of death metal and grindcore while pushing further into darker, more deliberate territory, shaped by atmosphere, groove and a subtle mechanized edge.
We can sense this from the very beginning with the title track of this EP. Indeed, “Between Blood And Silence” bares its teeth with relentless, mechanized, and super-fast riffs, accompanied by crushing, rattling percussion.

In contrast, “Carved” leans more toward classic death metal, but with plenty of groove and mechanized, dry, and cutting riffs. “The Absence Of Light” confirms that Mangled Carpenter is serious business.
“Down, Down To Goblin Town” is rooted in the tribal sound of its percussion, accompanied by dry, cutting guitar riffs—deep and dark—in a sort of war anthem, and next we have a classic: “Terminate Damnation,” a Mortification cover masterfully performed by Mangled Carpenter in their own style.
The final track, “Short, Sharp, Shock,” begins with an intro that takes us back to a piece from the opera “The Mikado,” which Mangled Carpenter transforms into a grindcore sound—which, if you think about it, is insane. Opera in a Death Metal/Grindcore key? Remember Mangled Carpenter. In any case, it’s an excellent version and one of the standout highlights of an EP that really delivers.
Metoyer’s work across multiple projects gives that evolution added context. From the unpredictable grindcore of Pulpit Vomit to the more melodic direction of his solo material, his writing has never remained boxed into one expression of heavy music. Under the Mangled Carpenter banner, that broader creative reach is sharpened into something far more punishing, where structure, pacing, and darkness carry as much weight as sheer force.

Between Blood And Silence will be released by Broken Curfew Records and Rottweiler Records in partnership on July 17 of this year, bringing Mangled Carpenter’s latest statement to a wide audience across the Metal scene. Crushingly heavy, darkly atmospheric and unflinching in its purpose, the EP shows the band continuing to refine their identity without losing any of their force.
Below, we’ve included the preview the band posted on their social media. It’s none other than the aforementioned Mortification cover, “Terminate Damnation,” and while we’re at it, here are the band’s social media links so you can stay updated on their latest news…
