These past few years must be Stryper’s most prolific period in terms of new stuff, since I don’t remember the band ever being as active as they are right now. And if you don’t believe me, just consider that from 2024 to the present, they’ve released three studio albums and one live album—which is crazy when you think about it. But that’s the reality, and if we add in the tours and Michael Sweet’s solo work, it’s clear that the guys in Stryper never rest.
Mind you, the fact that the band is in prolific mode doesn’t necessarily mean that their latest releases are among the best in their long history, but that’s another matter and is up to each person’s subjective judgment. The reality is that following the late-2025 release of that sort of “Christmas” album titled “The Greatest Gift Of All”—with which Stryper really raised the bar—a new album is on the way.

“I’m Alright (I’m Okay)” is the lead single from this new release, their 18th studio album, which—like a good politician on the campaign trail—Michael Sweet promises will be the band’s best work ever. As he stated on social media, the band promises to break all the rules, yet it will still be a classic metal album with a 2026 sound.
The reality is that “I’m Alright (I’m Okay)” undoubtedly leans more toward the traditional side of Metal, with plenty of heavy riffs and a relentless drive. It maintains that unbreakable connection to the glorious ’80s, and the song’s structure is simple and direct enough to make it a perfect radio single. It’s a good sign that MS might actually be right, even if, as always, he’s exaggerating a bit.
We think the return to a more traditional foundation—centered on harder, more cutting riffs, very much in the style of “The Greatest Gift Of All”—is excellent, and that’s good news in principle.
A while back, in the interview we did, Michael Sweet himself told us about the new album that “…It’s shaping up to be an excellent album. It’s a little different from previous albums, though there are similarities that people will clearly notice when they listen to it. It’s going to be great,” also clarifying that “It definitely has its own stamp and sound. You’ll notice it’s 100% Stryper, but at the same time it has a slightly different touch and vibe, especially in the rhythms and riffs. But we’re very happy with the result, and I think the fans are going to love it.”

Even before the official release of the new album, the band has already announced on social media an extensive tour that will take them to various cities across the United States, though they also have shows scheduled in Germany and Puerto Rico (a country with which Stryper undoubtedly has a special connection). As for the rest of Latin America, when we asked Michael about the possibility of a return to these parts, he told us that “Nothing is confirmed at the moment, but I’d say it’s most likely we’ll definitely be back next year. Even if it’s just to play a few local shows. But I’m sure we’ll be back, and if not in 2026, then definitely in 2027.”
What puts our minds at ease is that this new album proves Stryper is here to stay, and that despite all the difficulties, they’re moving forward and working harder than ever. Will this 18th studio album rise above their previous releases? We’ll let you know in July when it’s officially released…
Here’s the new song that the band itself is releasing starting today, so you can enjoy Stryper’s new material…
