The Sons Of Thunder Prepare to Play with Skillet in Argentina | Boanerges Returns to the Stage
2024 was a busy year for Boanerges, as they not only released a new album (Inconsciencia), but also added a major tour of Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, and Ecuador to their official presentation in Buenos Aires. 2025 was a different story, as unlike the previous year, the band opted to take some time off, but not for long.
The reasons, for now, are under wraps, but in conversation with Marcelo Rodriguez, Boanerges’ longtime bassist (and a friend of the family), he told us that “… This year we’ve been working on some new projects that will be coming out soon, and well, on the other hand, it makes up a bit for last year when we were very active, with the new album and that tremendous Latin American tour at the end of the year through Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Ecuador.”
The news, which broke a few days ago, is that Boanerges will make their first live appearance of the year, accompanying the American band Skillet on their tour of Buenos Aires, on October 30, 2025, at “Arena Sur.” “There is a lot of anticipation for the date with Skillet,” Marcelo told us. “We consider it part of this process that sometimes brings us closer to a younger audience, which also happened with some songs from the new album. Suddenly we found ourselves with opinions and good reactions from a different audience, in some cases younger, who appreciated the change in arrangements and musical concepts in Inconsciencia. Boanerges always tries to evolve with each release, sometimes surprising with their twists and turns, but never losing sight of the essence of the band and the purpose of their message.”
Logically, the question was more than obvious: is the show with Skillet on October 30 the kickoff for us to see Boanerges playing live more often? “I think it’s good to create anticipation. For now, I can only say that we are planning something special that we will announce soon,” was the enigmatic response from the band’s longtime bassist.
Finally, Marcelo Rodriguez emphasized, regarding the future of Boanerges, that “…We have some projects that will surely be seen on the band’s official social media and channels. Boanerges has never been known for releasing albums in quick succession, nor are we concerned with numbers. We always focus on creativity. We believe that there is a time for inspiration, change, and maturation of both the lyrical and musical stuff.”
What is no longer news is that Boanerges is returning to the stage, accompanying Skillet in their show in Buenos Aires on October 30 of this year. All that remains is to wait for more news from the band.
