Glenn Rogers Gives Us a Sneak Peek of What's to Come... | A Promising 2026 for Primal
Primal, the project that Alberto Zamarbide (formerly of V8 and Logos) has been working on for several years alongside Glenn Rogers (formerly of Deliverance, Hirax, and Heretic, among others), Cesar Ceregatti (formerly of Steel Vengeance), and Jorge Iacobellis (formerly of TTM and Hirax, among others), has several plans in store for 2026.
2025 saw the release of the EP “Iron Age” and some live performances, including a show at the famous “Whiskey a Go Go” in Los Angeles, California, plus a concert in Mexico in October. Glenn Rogers told us about the experience of playing there. “We played at the HUNAB KU festival with Warbringer and Dave Evans ex AC DC singer. The show went really well for us. We had the fans chanting our name PRIMAL PRIMAL PRIMAL…It was the first time they got to see us perform and they greeted us very kindly. Mosh Productions did a great job. The fans in Mexico were great. We hope to go back sometime in 2026.”

Speaking of the new year that is upon us, we took the opportunity to ask Primal’s guitarist about the band’s upcoming plans. “We have signed a deal in Mexico with Old Skull Records to release a compilation cd from our first two records. We did this for the fans in Mexico so they can get their hands on our music. It’s so expensive to buy imports. We thought this was a good way to introduce PRIMAL to the fans in Mexico. The cd will be called End Times. I will contain 14 songs,” Glenn told us, which is good news for our Mexican brothers.
But that’s not all. Primal is preparing to record new material in 2026. In Rogers’ words, “I am working on new songs for a single or an EP for 2026. Right now I have 3 songs in development. I will demo them for Beto to work on this month. We hope to start recording in January or February”; clearly, we may have new stuff from Primal next year.

One of the things that stands out most about Primal, musically speaking, is that kind of cross between traditional Metal and the sound of Thrash Metal. That combination is especially evident on Primal’s latest album, “Humachine,” and Glenn Rogers commented on that musical direction, particularly pointing to what’s coming, saying, “Thrash Metal style is in our roots. Jorge and I come from that style so it will always be apart of our sound. For this new music we want a better blend of traditional Metal with Thrash style. The things is we write from the heart and what comes out is what it will be. For me I don’t think about style. I just write what God puts in my heart.”

But it’s not all new music, recordings, and new releases for Primal. 2026 opens the door for new live performances by the band. “Touring for 2026 is our goal”, said Glenn Rogers. “We have a new agency in Europe called Hightree Booking and Management. We hope to have some dates in Europe for 2026. For Latin America I think we will look to go to Mexico in the Spring 2026 to support our cd release with Old Skull Records.” So, Primal may have several shows lined up for next year.
