Featuring Roy Khan, CJ Grimmark and Anders Köllerfors | Martin Simson’s Destroyer Of Death Releases “Rescue Me”
American Martin Simson releases a new single titled “Rescue Me” as part of his project called “Destroyer Of Death”. This time featuring the well-known Roy Khan on vocals (who has worked with Kamelot, Avantasia and Conception). The result can already be heard on the digital platforms, delivering a powerful song that is part of the so-called Progressive Power Metal. “Rescue Me” has a great sound production and we suppose, it will be a preview of an upcoming album to be released soon.
Released on February 28th on Jonatan Samuelsson’s (Narnia, Starmen) JONO Music (SUE) label, the single “Rescue Me” besides Roy Khan’s stellar contribution also features CJ Grimmark (Narnia, Jerusalem, among others) who was responsible for guitars, keyboards, backing vocals, production and mixing; and Anders Köllerfors (Narnia, Anete Olzen, All For The King, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall, among others) on drums. Mastering was handled by the renowned Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson (The Panic Room).
Started in 2020, the multinational project “Martin Simson’s Destroyer Of Death” has in its discography 2 singles and an excellent album that received qualitative reviews throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Besides having exquisite compositions and a relevant production, the project led by American Martin Simson (bass) has always counted with the participation of legendary names of the scene such as Rob Rock (Impellitteri, solo career, among others), Jørn Lande (MasterPlan, solo career, among others), Rex Carrol (Whitecross, Fierce Heart) and Anders Johansson (Manowar, ex Hammerfall, ex Stratovarius, ex Yngwie Malmsteen, among others). This concept of stellar presence is carried through with their new single, “Rescue Me”, which features Roy Khan (Conception, Avantasia, Kamelot) on vocals.
Of Roy Khan’s incredible involvement, Martin says, “I first met Roy in 2011 when I heard Kamelot’s ‘The Pain’ and I remember being blown away – I loved your voice immediately! When I started writing ‘Rescue Me’, I had your vocal style in mind. I was able to contact you through CJ Grimmark as you live near each other, I was thrilled when he accepted my offer! It would have been impossible to make him sing without CJ. “I’m very happy with how the song turned out and I can’t believe the great Roy Khan is singing on it!”
