La Muerte is an Argentine band focused on Death Metal that was formed around 2016. Since then, La Muerte has been fighting hard, except for the mandatory break caused by the 2020/21 pandemic. Reassembled about a year ago, with some changes in its lineup, La Muerte has been playing several dates and preparing what will be its first official stuff, which will possibly see the light of day in 2026.

Formed in the light of the old school of Extreme Metal, La Muerte enters the scene with a proposal focused on the most visceral Death Metal. Influenced by bands such as Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid, Napalm Death, Suffocation, Death, The Black Dahlia Murder, Defeated Sanity, and Aeon, among others, La Muerte defines itself as an old school Death Metal band.
The striking name La Muerte reflects the admiration of Jaff, the band’s guitarist, for Death, the pioneering band of the genre back in the 1980s. In addition to Jaff on guitar, La Muerte’s lineup is completed by Jorge on vocals, Jose “Lobo” on bass, and Gaby Milarki on drums. With this lineup, La Muerte is taking the next step, which will be to enter the studio to record their first official material. The band will also be quite busy as they have several dates scheduled from here on out.

We were able to listen to a demo-rehearsal by La Muerte, recorded in June of this year, of the song “Oscuro Ser,” which demonstrates the fury, power, and strength that the band displays in its music, and where we can notice the clear influence of the aforementioned bands and everything that has to do with old-school Death Metal, with an Argentine and national imprint.
In this regard, Jorge, the vocalist, told us that the lyrics of La Muerte’s songs revolve around themes related to the band’s name: “When death comes, you’ve lost everything. Everything you have stays here; we take nothing with us. Whether you’re rich or poor, we all end up in the same place. We must try to enjoy what little we have“; but that is not the only topic the band addresses in their lyrics. ”In some songs, we reflect on what it means to take care of the soul so as not to be condemned eternally. When death comes, there is no redemption.”
La Muerte proposes to continue breathing life into the old and beloved Death Metal, without anything modern or new trends, and so that you can draw your own conclusions, we leave you with some videos of the band where you can hear how La Muerte sounds, a band to keep in mind. Also, as usual, we leave you with their social media coordinates so you can support them, follow them, and find out about their upcoming dates and news…
