From Brazil comes No More Death, a new project conceived and led by Tiago Torres, former guitarist and vocalist of Mad Dragzter, a band that released three high-caliber albums between 2001 and 2015. Now it’s time for No More Death, his new project, with which he is releasing this first album entitled “The Death Is Dead.”
No More Death is a true heir to the legacy that catapulted Sepultura onto the world stage, driven by the same fury and identity, and forged in the flames of Metal giants such as Metallica, Slayer, Testament, and Exodus. Driven by razor-sharp riffs, breakneck speed, crushing heaviness, and profound lyrics, “The Death is Dead,” No More Death’s debut album, is more than just a Metal record. It is a bold manifest, a raw cry about eternal life, justice, hope, and eschatology.

No More Death was born naturally. Tiago Torres had been carrying a repertoire of riffs, melodies, and ideas since Mad Dragzter split up. “I always knew I would return to music. It started to take shape in 2024, when we began recording. It wasn’t about trends or what was happening on the scene, because Thrash Metal is eternal. Both longtime fans and new ones keep it alive” he explains.
It is worth noting that for “The Death Is Dead,” Tiago recorded all the guitars, vocals, and bass on the album, staying true to the creative spirit that defined his former band. The album was co-produced by Demis Kohler, who also handled the sound engineering, mixing, mastering, and recording of each guitar solo.
In “The Death Is Dead,” you can rediscover old-school Thrash Metal with all the fury that characterizes it and that we miss so much. What we received in digital format to listen to confirms it. No More Death sounds loud and clear. The influence of Metallica, Slayer, Testament, and Exodus is unmistakable, but it merges with the pure emotion and aggressive touch of Brazilian Thrash.
“I’ve been listening to Thrash for almost 40 years; it’s in my DNA. The golden age of Sepultura shaped the way every Brazilian plays and composes. Add to that Korzus, Ratos de Porão, and Overdose’s Thrash phase… all of that mixed together to become No More Death. Even so, our goal is to create something unique. And I think we’ve achieved that with this first album,” Tiago acknowledges.

“The Death is Dead” is just the beginning. This album lays the foundation for a broader conceptual arc. Future albums will expand the lyrical narrative, building a connected story between songs and albums. “The plan is to continue releasing albums consistently. A great story, told piece by piece,” Tiago reveals.
Although he is currently focused on studio work, Tiago does not rule out live shows. “I don’t plan to go back to the routine of 50 concerts a year like Mad Dragzter, but I definitely want to take this to the stage with the right lineup. This album has the power to break boundaries and revolutionize the world of Thrash. Brazil has always been a breeding ground for great Thrash. The world is watching what happens here. And I firmly believe that this album can become a new catalyst, not only for die-hard Thrash fans, but for fans of all Heavy music. It has aggression, speed, power, hooks, melody… And riffs. Lots and lots of riffs.”
This album is available on major digital channels, and while we wait for a physical release that will allow us to provide a much more complete review, here are the details to get in touch with Tiago Torres’ great project, No More Death, and also part of what makes up “The Death Is Dead”…
